Ive seen mention of a modified TIE fighter, TIE advanced, and interceptor. The interceptor is in the game (the imperial gaurd interceptor) have the other two been implemented? I havent seen them or seen mention on the boards.

My self respect wont let me use the JSF or Bel-22. i refuse to be that guy

I plan on getting the imperial gaurd interceptor in the next couple of days for PvP but wouldnt mind a heavier variant of the advanced for PvE. Dontneed the second gun for PvP but forblasting spawns the extra damage makes things a lot quicker.

Yes, shipwrights can make you a Heavy TIE variant. They are a bit expensive because they use asteroid resources, but they look like a normal TIE Fighter but have a much higher mass. The Interceptor is the RGI (but it's hitbox is currently bugged) and the Advanced is the same old advanced, but its still a good ship. Light, but small and manueverable.

if you refuse to fly a JSF for what ever reason why fly a RGI the hitbox is way bugged and even I (I used to fly a JSF before I started the 9x ace thing) feel guilty flying it. I think the modification for the tie fighter is the heavy variant. The modification for the advanced is some side panel add ons that do nothing but look kinda cool.

I think what the OP is refering to is that every ship listed on that page has some improved stats, except for the TIE advanced. They clearly call the TIE advanced 'modified' a new RotW ship. And so far no one has seen it.Yes you can put strakes on an advanced, but I've not seen any benifit from doing so. I think something got left out of the implementation.

Thanks for the info folks. To bad the modified advanced doesnt have any benefit but your right still a very solid ship.

Sure, the hit box is messed up. Instead of being relativly accurate on the surfaces of the ship (most ships in JTL, the laser has to hit the actual ship to count, not just a generic bubble around it like in XvT or something) the hit box is actually smaller than the size of the cockitpit ball, and slightly above it.

This makes it REALLY hard to hit, even for the supper accurate aimbot AI. In PvP, its almost impossible, as the target is both so tiny and just some imaginary point you have to aim for.

So it's a bug in favor of the pilot, but it would be pretty underhanded to bring that ship into a PvP situation. which is too bad, it's really nice. I wish they would fix it

As I mentioned previously, I was tucked in behind one and kept pounding it...couldn't find the vulnerable spot. Called in two X-wings, one of which pounded it with four IR2s to take it down. (Yes,it might be gross overkill--but in starfighter combat, can overkill ever be gross?)

So there's no benefit in modifying the TIE Advanced?
