Hello

Yes I know its covered in the FAQ, and till now I would have thought I know how they work.
But I don't, it just doesn't add up with my testing.
Till now (and thats also what the FAQ says) Engine Overload 3 uses 333% Reactor Power, and Reactor Overload 3 produces 30% more.

Ok, here the data:
Reactor Output: 10891.9
Engine Energy Use: 1813.5
All Components use Energy: 11705 (so its 9891.5 for all except engine)

As to be expected, when I launch my CM launcher is only operating on 0.2 efficiency, since it needs 995 power but only 182 are available.
Now I use Reactor Overload 3. Everything works. Still as expected.

If the Reactor is producing 30% more energy now, its output is at 10891.9*1.3=14159 units now

Now I use Engine Overload 3. And still everything works. And this is where I'm lost.
Normal Reactor drain is 1813.5, that combined with the 0.3 Energy Efficiency of EO3 would be: 1813.5/0.3=6045 for the engine alone.

Now add the 9891.5 of the other components to it and you get 6045+9891.5=15936.5

1777 MORE than the reactor should produce! And still everything works.

For my reactor to have an energy output of 15936 the Reactor Overload 3 program would have to have at least a multiplyer of 1.464, which would mean its +46.4% at least.

I'm pretty sure that EO3 really uses 333% Energy (I ran a small test for that), but how does RO3 fit into this. I'm totally lost right now.

It's a bit of a bug, but I forgot how it was explained.

Regardless, you can run all your overload 3 programs and not run out of reactor power.

I tried out the same and came up with that engine energy usage and capacitor usage is divided by 0.2 and not 0.1... Like that both should work for me barely with x1.4 reactor generation... my cm launcher would run at 30% efficiency though.

It's the easiest explanation since otherwise id need 27k generation if the multiplier was indeed 10 (1/0.1).

Something sounds wonky here big time.

one of these days, sonys gonna revisit JTL, and overloads are bound to be on the table. When they finaly fix whatevers going on with them, its gonna turn our words upside down I wish theyd just scrap them and give us E/W/S energy management.
