Thread: Privateer in space/ Rebel on ground

I have run into a few issues while doing privateer missions. One mission I have to escort an Imperial Shuttle through Endor Space and it is attacked by Rebel forces. Being a rebel on ground (I am assuming), I was not able to defend the shuttle myself. The only way I was able to get the shuttle through was by using the Pirate trap command. Is this a bug or just an issue or am I just being stupid.

Another problem I ran into was doing the quest for the ARC-170. I made it to the end of the mission with the space fight against the Tie Fighters and I was unable to attack them. The only way I was able to complete this mission was that I had a rebel pilot grouped with me and he killed all the Tie Fighters.

Next question......If I run the quest for the Vaskai at the Kashyyk Space Station, will I get the Vaskai because I am a Freelance pilot or will I get the advanced X-wing because I am a rebel on ground.

Is Privateer not allowed to be involved in faction fighting in space? Do I need to declare? Can I declare?

I am the only one of my friends to go privateer, just because I wanted the YT-1300, so they don't have any answers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The quest ship you will be able to pilot is based on your pilot squadron, not your ground faction.

I'm a rebel, privateer pilot. So I can fly my vaksai, but had to give away my heavy x.

I ran into the same problem that you have. I joined the Naboo RSF... RSF is Imp alligned which means you can't attack any imps. Smugglers alliance from Tatooine is Rebel alligned which means no shootin down rebels. Think CorSec is the only truly neutral "Neutral Freelance" profession out there.

I'm RSF 4333 but think i'm gonna have to drop it for CorSec. Wish I woulda known when I signed up, went Freelance to be neutral...

You can always attack the enemies during the pilot mastering missions, unless you go overt.

The ARC-170is a known issue. They really should ban rebel players from joining RSF.

The missions for the Vaksai/Heavy X/RG TIE all start at Kashyyyk space station. However, the Heavy X is gotten by finishing the series at Kashyyyk Rebel station, the RG TIE at Kashyyyk Imperial station. If you stick to the Kashyyyk Space Station where you start the quest you get the Vaksai.

Privateers can go overt at the Alliance Stations I and II in Dantooine, they cannot enter Deep Space overt. But they can gain FP in the other 9 sectors.

Huh? I'm a Ground Rebel/Privateer Ace (Smuggler's Alliance) and I can enter Deep Space as an Overt Rebel just fine. We use the Neutral base in Dathomir though.

But you don't get FP. If you go overt first at a station in dantooine neither Rebel or Neutral station will allow you to go to Deep Space.

I'll admit having 2 kinds of overt in space is kinda confusing.

The problem is that you can't auto-target them, you have to do it manually.

i.e. Hitting TAB won't target those ships, but you can still use the X key to target, then blast away, they'll turn red after you hit them a few times
