Thread: Kill the vette in a YT1300? Should I just blow myself up now to save time?

Had a friend out in my YT1300 last night helping him get to tier 3 in pilot and it got me thinking. I'd solo'd the vette earlier in the day with a krayt. So would it be possible in the YT1300?

My initial thought was no F**KING way. But as i got to thinking, if you had an amazing engine, shield, and crew it might just be do able. if so that'd be one hell of an achievement and one hell of a bit of fun.

what do you guys think?

119 speed engine, a 49 speed POB Booster, apair of speed experimented Null Bolts, EO4, two Spacebomb II launchers with no less than 26k max damage, two very talented gunners, POB armor/shields, and pure brass balls (mounted somewhere comfortable and heated for minimal chafing).

Should be doable. The gunboats will be the biggest pain.

Gunboats would be the easiest part I would think, just sit underneath them and let one of your turrets deal with them.

It's very doable, I'm sure - I've never done the kessel vette, but I've done lots of vettes in Deep Space in my Decimator. Hardest part is getting good gunners who understand how to deal with the vettes movement in relation to your own ship.

Depends on which corvette you speak of, boss. I wouldn't recommend sitting under a YE-4 for any length of time, even with CapShunt.

Yes, there are some people out there who are naturally talanted with shooting turrets. I found one guy in my guild. Hes an ok pilot. but he can hit anything in a turret, weather we be rolling spinning what ever. Best shot I've ever run across!

YE-4s still have the blindspot, it's just smaller. It gets a little trickier trying to stay in both blindspots at once, but I know you can do it, having done it in a fighter.

I seem cursed with poor gunners. Of course, many time they're low level pilots without much experience anyhow.

I was part of at least five Vette destructions as a gunner in a YT-1300 when I first joined the game. It was a lot of fun. So yeah, it's totally possable.

if the pilot knows what he is doing its a peice of cake. iwth bombs you dont even need gunners. with gunners you dont need bombs.

Ive done it.. Ran into a group that refused to invite me whileI was grinding XP/FP in Kessel.. So I thought, well.. Ill try myself... In the end I picked up chips from all fighters save 2, both gunships ( really REALLY easy in a turreted ship) and the Ravager herself... Earlier same evening I had done the SD, Also in my Nova

I agree tho, you need to have skilled gunners, and no way youll be able to kill it faster than a fighter (assuming you dont use bombs)
