When i run EO4 my capacitor's juice instantly runs out and wont recharge again and my shields get damaged down to 80 precent.I run a decent reactor with no need for reactor overload so could someone tell me why this happens cheers

You need reactor overload. EO4 causes your ship to use a LOT more power.

run reactor overload 3 first (3 if it will work if not then go with 4)

you dont have enough power, and your ship is getting disabled.

EO4 makes your engine chew 10 times the power. RO4 makes your reactor put out 90% more power. WO3 makes yoru guns use 1/3 the power (bugged)

run the numbers on your shipand find eitheran engine with low enough drain, or a reactor with high enough output

Not to be rude, but search! This is asked frequently.

To answer your question, overloads draw more power from the reactor, a LOT more in the case of EO4. So much that it's drawing power from other critical systems. To remedy this, run Reactor Overload.

Click on the guide in my sig, then scroll down to the OTHER guide linked in there, it will give you exact numbers for each program, so you know how much power you're draining. Then go back and look at my guide for how to run the programs in the most efficient manner.

Are you a pilot and not using Droid Commands?

What's more, the engine is the first thing to draw power, so the ten times can disable everything else. WO4 has the same power requirements, but weapons draw last so don't disable anything else, and nobody screams about it disabling their ship.
