Its the same for everyone, its either been removed to reduce clutter/sys message spam or is a bug.

My best guess on it is to hide the nerf to xp. Granted, I haven't watched the actual numbers in so long, I'm not 100% certain if it applies to space as well, but I know Tiggs said it best about the ground game.
In short, "We don't display the actual xp gained so you won't see how little you actually get, instead, we are trying to dazzle you with flashy graphics to show how nice of a bonus there is on being grouped".
Granted, that xp nerf was held off for a little bit, but the display will stay the same.
I too wish that we had it back, cause it was an interesting study as to what types of craft gave differing amounts of xp.
