At this point I'm 4/3/3/3 and having some trouble with the mission. Either I get through the first part of the mission escorting the scanner but then fail while escorting the lambda shuttle(idiot flys right into a hot zone and i get swamped), or i can't kill the ships fast enough and fail in the first part. I've tried linking both weapons on my ryshkktogether but that doesn't help. Anyone have any pointers or tricks to help. Thanks.

Are you using any programs? Such as weapon overload 3? If not get them. Holy crap they make a huge difference. Id probably also grind out the last droid box. Myself im using weapon overload 3, engine overload 3, reactor overload 3, and cap to shield stunt 4 (havent had to use the last one yet).
My a-wings old top speed was 921. With overload its 1148 my turning sweet spot right around 950-1000 speed. Its crazy how manuverable that thing is.
Overload 3 lets me kill things twice as fast its just incredible the difference it made.

Don't kill the ships just disable their engines. It leaves them out there floating and no threat to you plus disabling the engine is quicker to do then to destroy them allowing you to go after the next mob quicker. Also disbaling them just leaves them sitting for awhile until they automatically explode thisslows downthe continous wave attacks due to the fact that only 2 waves of fighters can exist at on time during a mission.

tried the disable strat, worked for the first part of the mission, then during the second it was a pain to disable the ships( a-wings stink with the way the aiming system is) and then bam mission failed i was too far behind. wth

What I did was boost through the spawn as fast as possible. Once your booster runs out, IFF Scramble and keep going. You'll be out of their aggro range and should be free to finish the mission.
I have heard, however, that you don't really need to worry about the shuttle since the Rebels can't kill it anyway. You can just hyper out to the other side of the spawn and wait for it to get there. If you don't attack the rebels, you can just sit there and watch the fun 'till the mission is over.

No, you won't but at least you'll finish the mission.

Thats just what my problem was. Through the first part, just disable the ships and keep checking your distance from the scanner. With the rebel attack, go after the easier-to-hit x-wings and y-wingsbut dont get too far from the shuttle (I tried to stay under 1k meters). Peck at the A-wings when you can but dont let them lead you away. They wont get even near destroying the shuttle, just stay alive and itll get to its destination soon enough.

Thanks for the tips guys, finally passed the mission on my 4th try, and wouldn't you know it , but the ship i used to complete the mission was my kihraxz and the Rihkxyrk ship which failed me everytime i used it. Also i noticed that i don't have to program data cards for droid commands anymore i just use the droid and upload them there. I must be out of it, i don't remember reading about that change. Anyway thanks for the help, might be back for mission 2 though.

I can do that as well and I believe that only applies to your pilot professions particular programs. If you wanted say imperial droid programs, your imp buddy would have to lay it on a chip to trade. Congrats on the mission by the way.
And linking all guns to a single fire trigger is a must. Running Reactor Overload 3, and Cap Overload 3 you don't have to worry much about draining the capacitor.
