Hi all, I'm a bit of a total noob.... so please bear with me!
I'm currently going through the Privateer missions, and I'm stuck on Tier 4 mission 2. I've been doing duty missions out of Dathomir.
This one concerns the mission when you get your second box filled.
It's a capture & escort mission at Dantooine.
First you have to caputre and escort a Black Sun frieghter.
Once that is done, you have to capture & escort an Imperial Shuttle.
Ok, no problems there. I've fought off all the imperials, escorted the shuttle, and when it hypes out of the system, it says I "wasn't fast enough" ???
I'm rather curious if I'm doing something wrong or it's a bug not registering the capture of the IMP shuttle.
It's a real long mission, that I've been thru twice, and racked up about 400K XP between the two of them... it kind of sucks to get that far and be robbed.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!
TIA!

funny.. i had that with tier 4 mission 3. after going through wave after wave after wave one of the fighters refused taking damage, suddenly jumped out of the system and i was told "awwww, too slow loser, a critical ship just got away".. interesting, i thought my "critical" ship would be the freighter.

I'm stuck on the same mission. Journal says disable, then after that is done, to escort. But invariably i run out of time when escorting. Not sure what the deal is. Other similar escort missions were just to keep the ship alive until it hypered. Seems to be a glitch. when it hypers we should be good, not failures.

posible solution
ok have some really alsome friends do the fighting and you hang near the frieghter, keep everything and anything from getting close, maybe what's happening is what i like to do
I have friends distrack and i run in and dock, fast and with no hub-bub, it captures the shuttle or freighter fast.
so maybe what's happening is a fighter gets past ya, and docks

It looks like all of the Tier 4 capture/escort missions are suffering from the same bug.
There is a thread in this forum for exactly the same issue, but with the mission for the last tier 4 box (Endor escort mission)
/bump !!

stated above... you are not alone.... seems several capture/escort missions are bugged.
I got past mission 2 no problems prior to the recent pub....so the issue seems to be related with the most recent mini-publish.
***edit***
/bug /bug /bug it.... this is an issue that needs to be resolved cuz basically the entire pilot proff is broken if you cant progress due to a bug like this one.

I beat the mission last night. The Key: Disable, disable, disable! NME ships go down a whole lot faster, and the shuttle will complete it's mission.
Good luck to anyone else who has to go thru this. It's one hell of a ride.

I am a bit confused about mission (tier 4 mission 2) mentioned in thes thread. I am currently failing, for the 10th time, the patrol mission out of Dantooine, that I thought was tier 4 mission 2. I hit between 6 and 10 patrol points then I have to take out a frieghter (YT-1300 I think) and it's escorts. This is where I get blasted. I am flying either solo or with one tier 3 wingman. I thought this was Priveteer tier 4 mission 2. I may be wrong, BTW I am a CorSec Priveteer, that may be the difference. Has any seen this patrol mission, and other than "bring friends" does anyone have any advice?

Zanholo;
Thanks for the reply. I guess you are correct in your assessment. I am currently at 3433 and I have pretty much soloed all the way. I sometimes play with my adult sons, but usually I'm the one covering while they go about their missions. I have the very best equipment I can find (I am a relatively successful Master Bounty Hunter) but I simply can't get by the turrents on that YT. Wish you were on Intrepid or Naritus, maybe we could try it together, you sound like a good guy.

hm, not even jousting is working? thats the only way i found to deal with annoying turrets. fly away, turn, target weapons, make a pass and once your past it use boosters to get away (if necessary transfer energy to shields). but then, 3433 might have been your mistake. unless i confuse the branches then tier 4 components will be rather useless in a tier 3 ship because they are far too heavy.

gumbo, you are at the point where there isn't really much advice other than bring friends...and making sure you are using best equip you can and the best droid programs. 4/3/3/3 was the last mission I was able to solo.
Disabling anything you can't stay right on the tail of is also excellent advice.

heh, that was my problem. I immediately went for components in tier4. Big mistake. Now i'm floundering around this mission too. I brought along a few friends and we all got wiped. I think our problem was they we weren't targetting the YT's turrets first and foremost.
