Where is the blind spot on a Gunboat?

I usually play between 2-4 AM, opposite times as my mates, and end up flying solo.

I'm 3322 Freelancer, and have to take on, among other things, a Gunboat.

Any tips/hints/suggestions would be appreciated.

Below and behind is the blindspot for both Imperial and Rebel, although I think the Imperial and Rebel Gunboats have slightly different blindspots.

Ok in the missions you will need different tactics than in Kessel. On missions the gun boat will always be turning to follow you so it will be difficult to use the blind spots. I highly reccomend when doing your pilot missions for boxes on getting friends to help you. First target the gunboats escorts, and stay clear of the gun boat. After the escorts are gone target the gunboats engines. Then sit right behind and just under the rear of the gunboat, the rear weapon can't shoot straight down, and take it out. This tactic will work on both styles, although the reb style gunboat has a bigger blind spot than the imp one. Be sure to come up from just below the gun boats to prevent it from shooting you on the way in.

speed and aggression are the keys to killing a gunboat.

Attack hard and boost away on the same vector, cap to shield shunt, turn round and repeat, then do that over and over. Put some evasive manouveres in to throw of their aim and youll kill the gunboat. Plus, its more fun this way, and anyone watching will think your a crazy mad super pilot!
