How do you use commands that you aren't certified for? I see people selling preprogrammed chips which would indicate that a chip you are not able to program yourself would be useful. For example in my own case I am a freelance pilot but would like to install and use a weapon overload chip which I am unable to program on my own. Can I do that and if so, how?

Check the FAQs for a full explanation. Short version. Droid chips programmed by an indivdual that has those commands.( I.E. Freelance pilot programming a Shunt capacitor to Shield 4.)

Yes, you can use them. Buy the chip and put it in your inventory. Choose your astromech/flight computer from your data pad, and chose program from the radial menu. It'll give you a two pane programing screen. One side will list available programs, the other will list selected programs (if any). Any chips you have in your inventory should show up as program options in the first pane. Select a program you want to add, click the rightward arrow in between the two panes, and it'll be added tothe chosen programs window. A green vertical bar on the right side of the window will tell you how much space you have left forfurther programs. When you've chosen all the programs you want, press the commit button at the bottom of the window.

I'd also recommend the engine overload program.

I did what you said Gprincip. How do I use the command in space though? I normally use CTL A and select commands to add to my shortcut bar but didn't see one for weapon overload. That is why I was thinking maybe I lost the program when I added it to my flight computer.

Ok I like to use wc3, wo3, eo3, ro3. But I have yet to find out how much more this drains my reactor. Does anyone have a link to a site listing the changes to the drain?

It would be nice if they listed your current reactor drain in your ship data so you can compare it to your current reactor output but unless I am blind that doesn't exist.

For about the fourth time this week....

Read the guide in my sig. There's a link in there (only one link) to another great guide which is, I believe, very conveniently located in the FAQ, which details the drain of each program level.

Are you a pilot and not using Droid Commands?
