Thread: Pilots need the Y-8 quest fixed to MIne in Space with new fixes!
Vehicles
All vehicles, jetpacks and restoration:
- Restoring a disabled vehicle will now require a vehicle restoration kit (formerly "the BARC speeder repair tool").
- The BARC speeder repair tool is now a general-purpose vehicle restoration kit which can be used to restore any disabled vehicle.
- Vehicles can no longer be restored at parking garages without a vehicle restoration kit.
- The Flash speeder may still be restored for 20,000 credits (no change).
- The vehicle restoration kit is now a stackable item.
I really like this and glad this is coming into Live. Repairing at Vehicle Garages is kinda dumb and gives the master artisan no way of selling the Barc repair Tools. But....
To productively gaining resources for the crafting of these items you need to mine in space. Atm I am working to Master Pilot and on the (BUGGED) quest of the y-8 ship. Now i can harvest a max of 1550 units at each run which i know for many pilots can get very frustrating. However the y-8 can harvest up too 5000 units and now the quest is bugged and I really think it should be fixed asap. The outcome of this quest not being fixed could result in a LOT of unhappy Barc, Jetpack, and AV-21 owners. It is near impossible to gain the resources needed to craft the Barc repair tools and maintain this on vendors for other players to find. I am glad this change is happening but when i think of how many players are going to need these and the quest being bugged for those who will want to mine resources in space. I really think that the fix on the y-8 quest SHOULD be fixed before this kind of fix is ready for LIVE servers. Just mine thought on it and I think a lot of people would agree.
So realy there is two things that need fixing here...
No i have not seen any of them mine. lol i mine with my grevious ship atm and it's ok but 1550 units a trip is just too small.
The y-8 quest with 5000 units per trip would be much better in any case to me but then again I have not flyed the ship and don;t know 100% of it's bugs cause I can not complete the quest!! 
Then add in how many players its going to take to crew your Y-8. Lets just say its 4 people for argument sake. Take those 4 people and put them in 4 fighters. That's 4 x 1550 = 6200 units per land/launch cycle.
Don't get me wrong, I think it would be cool if the Y-8 was the best way to mine but right now I just don't think it is... at all... or even close.
Also you are going to need 3 people to help not including your self and one of those people mans a fixed forward mount (for a tractor)... from what I hear it is mind numbingly boring and quite wasteful the way it is now... a lot of asteroids get away.
and besides all of that, the rear gun is best used as a defensive turret... it simply won't see and rocks.
