query from a newbie pilot

i disabled a tier 3 freighter, docked with it and a little message says 'cargo successfully transferred to hold' but when i land and try to unload cargo it says 'there is nothing in hold'

any ideas?

silly question, do u actually carry a cargo hold? if not, then you wont have anything in it. Sounds stupid I know, as I thought this at first, but I'm afraid it's so.

I have never found out where the items go when you dock with a ship. I think they just "go into your hold" to complete a mission obj. And there is never actually a item created.

yep i do have a cargo hold on my ship but i know where you are coming from

this wasn't part of a mission just a random flyby but it seems odd that i get told that cargo has been transferred but nothing appears in either hold or inventory.

- Fact: Although you see items when you inspect a ship, and will even see a message claiming they were transferred over if you dock, there is no physical item that you will recieve. The game has been this way since launch. Doesn't matter if you have a cargo hold. If it's for a mission, you'll get mission credit, but still no item.
