Thread: low level PVE, kimo or dunelizard?
I prefer the Dunelizard. I used the Dunelizard all the way until I got my Rihk at 4xxx.
Guess it comes down to personal preference, agility vs. damage.
Heavy syck has only one gun, which makes it worse at PvE than the Dunelizard at low levels where mass is not an issue. In fact, at high levels the Dunelizard has more damage potential than a Syck.
My usual advice on these types of questions is...why not try both? Chassis aren't that expensive, in fact odds are a guildmate might have an old chassis you can borrow. Also, clicking on the Misc tab on the bazaar will let you search for ship deeds, which are usually used and cheap.
And on a personal note, I hate:

I'm seeing this a lot. What else would we do? Ignore your question if you didn't tell us to discuss?

i hadn't thought about this, but what about the Kihraxz.
Lizzy > Kihraxz IMO because the 2nd gun is more important to me than the Kihraxz higher agility.
Though on the greater scale of things the Dunelizard is already fairly maneuverable, you just need a nice engine or EO program.
Though I like the Rihk alot even though it handles like a drunken bantha, its higher mass and 3 weapon mounts (along with greater target profile) are more important to me than agility. Comes down to your personal preference though.
I even like the challenge of flying a B-Wing, which is the highest in sluggish response bombers. Not that I fly it all the time, in most cases I think its overkill.
Rihk is a little bit more sluggish than I like but like the X-Wing, its more suited towards making quick kills and more maneuvering. Compared with the Lizard where you'd spend less time maneuvering and more time whittling down their shields and armor.
Best solution though would be what someone suggested above, see if you can borrow one from a friend and try it for yourself. Personal experience is a lot more helpful than most of what you read off of the forums.
Just be sure if you go the Bel-22 route that you test your weapons out before launching - the Bel can have graphics/placement problems.
thanks,
I've used my duney a lot, like that, hopped in a kimo today, and i had a better engine than in my duney and flies just as good as it, but havent tried the Kihraxz yet.
right now i'm leaning towards a kimo, because i can go just a good as my duney with the proper engine, and i can pop in three different weapons for lots o' firepower.

On my recent RSF grind, I made due with a Duney until 4333 when I switched to a Bel-22.

Doesn't the starport manager frown on weapons tests at the starport? How exactly do you test the firing effects without launching. I've had some perfectly functional guns on the Bel that looked like a black box under the fighter. Never had one not function though.

You look for the "Default Appearance" box and when you launch, hope the weapon fire effect doesn't shoot UPWARDS.
