i know this is not entirley the correct board, but i want to take a space video and i dont even know how to take videos ingame.

Great program. I'm just trying to work out which program I need to use to compress 5minute videos to a more downloadable format. I got a few A-wing vids I made with suggestions on how to handle the ship in them. I have a few more I want to pot too but as of yet, my compression skills are somewhat retarded

For compression, nothing will beat DivX. That'll let you make those 5 minute videos at about 30-40 meg, maybe less if you really compress them. Not sure what resolution you Fraps'd them in.

But yeah, for recording, nothing beats Fraps.
