I've not made a macro for that purpose, but I believe I've felt the kind of 'temporary turning boost' you're describing. I have a habit (for better or worse) of very frequently changing speed in combat situations. I use a mouse/keyboard and totally revamped the layout when I put additional speed controls at my fingertips (and some other functions).
The macro first made me think of POb ships, as I'd usually like to get them *to* full speed without going over (in order to minimize the control reversal on decel from boosted speeds).

Try this. I've been using it a little in pvp situations as of late and I'm finding it pretty good when used at the right time.
/boosteron;
/pause 1.5;
/boosteroff
Assign it to an easily accessable key now.
Ever in a turning fight and are unable to get that extra bit of manouverability out of your engines in order to 'reach' the enemies lead indicator in order ot kill them? Well the above, I find sharpens your turn. Full boost will do the same but as you reach full boost velocity, the AoA will even out as acceleration becomes uniform once again so you need it to be a short punchy, calculated boost.
I might just be crazy. Has anyone tried this before?
I got the inspiration from the Starvipers in the new Battle Star Galactica seris and how they use vector jets to push themselves around almost on the spot. Now I know full well that pre-set throttle settings and a knowledge of your ships sweet spots will do this too but this has a slightly different effect.
I got a few other 'space macros' I'm working on (which will be deomonstrated in the 'Leaph Chausew A-wing propaganda' video I'm working on) however, I'll save them until later. I want to see what people mak of this first.
Feed back please

In the Heavy X I normally fly, that'd be a recipe for suicide since the JSF/B-22 is far more maneuverable in that corner of the flight envelope. But it may work for A-Wings.
