Pilot Archive

This weekend I made Ace with Storm Squadron, and my first assignment was the newly launched VT-49 Decimator "Obliterator". There is nothing quite as fulfilling as being bestowed the highest honor a pilot can recieve in the Empire. I could barely Contain my excitement as I headed to the starport in Bestine to take a shuttle to the space station. Upon arriving I imediately headed for my new ship and did a quick preflight check, I started on the Bridge. This will be a fine place to command from, good view of the surrounding battle. I next decided to check out the weapons she was outfitted with, two experimental blasters both in turrets, one mounted topside, and one slung under the hull. Manning the upper turret showed me they have good coverage, and a very fast transversal speed, this is good!

Next I proceeded down to the lower deck to check out Engineering, it looked well stocked, and like it would be quite capable in a fight. I was quite pleased with the ammount of equipment that was stored there. I moved fore throught the engineering bulkhead and into the Breifing Room It looks like a nice layout, and I have room for my co-pilot, gun crews and engineer to be seated while I inform them of the comming actions. There is also a small galley provided in this same space, right now it is pretty bare bones, I guess the Empire doesn't want us lounging around in here, I'll get this upgraded real soon. Moving fore once again is the Crews Quarters. More than adequate berths for any extened cruise we might be sent on. One of my favorite parts of the ship is The window located here. If it wouldn't lead to a courts marshal, I could just part this ship somewhere and enjoy the view!

Everything looked in shape and I checked off all my pre-flight duties, it was time for the shake down cruise. I headed back up to the bridge and took my seat at the helm. The view was spectacular, looking out over the long bow, I almost felt as if I was skippering a Star Destroyer, but in all honesty I'm happier here, I can still get in the thick of it in a ship this size, not just stand on station and let the fighters take care of business. What fun would that be? I eased the throttle forward, and slid out of space dock I called into the space station and asked them to send me a feed from one of their cameras, I just wanted one Beauty shot of the Obliterator before we left. Once I was clear I opened her up, she can make good headway for such a large craft. I went on a quick tour of the surrounding space, then returned to space dock to plan for my first real mission. I was told to head for Lok, and harrass the rebels that hang out there, now I just need to get my crew together.

Send me, Otto Yardhand, a tellif you are interested in going on a cruise, the first mission to lok went very well, The ship handeled great, and my gunners quickly gained skill, once i can pin down an engineer and a co-pilot I'd like to try some higher level rebels, maybe out near endor.

Very nice pictures. As a Rebel Pilot I haven't gotten to see the inside of one myself, but its a very well designed ship by the looks of it. Especially the colour and the windows give it a very Imperial feel.
