It would help if you told us what type of ship you are up against.. It has been a long time since I flew this mission.

Btw... if it really is a Lambda Shuttle, then the blind spot is forward of the rear gun emplacements, aft of teh froward gun emplacements and anywhere around the long axis of the shuttle. You have to approach such that you are forward of the rear turret's firing coverage arc.
Since the shuttle is always moving, and we cant "sideslip" such that we maintain our angle of attack, you'll probably have to make several strafing runs.

edit: Awwwww... there's my baby... the one-star p**-ant of a prepubescent adolescent wanna-be. It neverceases to amaze me how someone so cowardly could live to an age where he/she can read and write... umm... you CAN read and write? Perhaps I am being to harsh. I suppose tht it IS possible that this child is still in his/her diapers and is simply responding to random thoughts (other than eat/poop/sleep/eat/poop/sleep). At any rate... Thanks for the star. /bow

Get others to help you. You might also pick up the droid programs if you haven't already. They can improve your performance greatly. You can't always solo everything.
Personally, I have fun helping lower level pilots if they ask me. I just don't get asked often. I'm a master smuggler's alliance pilot on Bloodfin.

Can someone please give me some help, im 3-3-3-2 imp pilot, ive upgraded my ship all i can, and the dumb @$$ devs dont let you train until you beat a mission that i cant beat, so theres no way to get stronger (stupid)
Anyways, i acutally managed to kill this general 3 times, but then i have to do 5 more missions before it gives me a break (another dumb @$$ thing) and if i die once, i have to start the whole thing over again (the biggest stupidest dumb @$$ idea anyone could have ever thought off)

can someone tell me how i can kill something that kills me in 7 hits and can fire from anywhere, it even shoots me when im below it or on top of it.

For the rebel gunboats:
1. Get behind it, but stay out of 700m range.
2. Slowly and carfully move to 525m range, and do your best to keep your ship at this range (matchspeed "M" helps). The range of the gunboat is ~515m, but all player weapons have a range of 545m.
3. Target weapon 1 and shoot. Even though it doesn't look like it, you are hitting the ship.
4. After weapon 1 goes down, destroy weapon 2. This will eliminate all the rear turrets.
5. Move in from behind andeliminate the engine, and then destory the ship.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the gunship changes direction and fires on you, turn around fast and boost until you are 1000 away from it, then do steps 1-5 over again.

The problem with that is that mission gunships/gunboats don't follow a set path, they will actively pursue you. The best advice would be to have a wingmate (at least one) with you, let the gunship follow you in a straight line, and let your wingmate do the "get behind it" trick. Or just make fast strafe runs with nice shields.

If it is a mission that you can't beat, then it is not because the Devs aren't doing their job .. it simply means that you are not good enough to advance. Keep practicing. Or buy a slinky.

I have to agree with wax. JtLS is not based primarily on skill sets and templates like the ground game is, but based upon personal skill.
