What are the best commands the priviteer has, like Pirate Trap and Engery Pulse and the others. Which are the best, or are any of them any use

The only one thats really useful as far as I've found is IFF Scramble. The rest are pretty much junk. Pirate Traps, the pirates almost always attack you. Energy Pulse is too weak and drains your cap (and for 3 your shields as well). EThrust shuts off your droid commands (overloads and such), so its not very useful either.

I can still take down tier4 Black Suns with epulse3, but it takes razor sharp timing (range is crucial). Saving grace is the power of Cap Overcharge, and the Cap>shield shunt. I can usually epulse on the initial pass of a Destroy mission attack wave, get power back on the cap, and dump it into the shields, before any survivors make the turn and start shooting.

IFFscramble is the most reliable lifesaver though.

Not quite. Rebs can, Freelance can. Imperial can't though.
