Ok, started my Tier 3 missions over Yavin, and I like to go overt so I can collect the faction points but I can't figure out where to go overt? Anyone have any ideas?

Assuming you want to go Rebel overt, you need to go to another system to find a base. Something about a Deathstar being a former resident of the system I think. As an Imperial you have the choice of up to 3 bases to talk to about going overt. As long as you do not land on a planet or get shot down you will remain overt.

If you are looking to grind faction and xp at the same time as a Rebel I recomend the Lok space station missions. Low level ships, but quality is made up for in quantiy. Just make sure you go overt before you take the mission because the faction space station will not talk to you if are currently holding a mission. The neutral system space stations do not seem to be so picky.

Maybe I'm seeing a bug but generally when I hyperspace anywhere to go overt I lose the way point for my mission. The mission is still a go but the waypoint disappears so I have to fly out to the rebel base, go overt, then fly over to the mission way point. Am I just doing something wrong?

Ok, sort of figured there weren't going to be any rebel bases around Yavin....freakin yavin... I hate it.

Don't even bother entering the system your mission is in until you're ready for your mission. Simple solution. Launch somewhere safe, run your overloads, fly to a station to go overt, then enter the system where your mission is, that's how I do it. 95% of the time I use Rebellion Blaze in Lok to go overt, unless im hitting deepspace, then I just handle it all in Dantooine.

ok, just to clarify:

1 - Get mission from trainer

2 - go to Starship console and "travel" to another system

3 - get ready to fight, go overt in that system

4 - jump to system with mission in it

That right?

Also, what is an overload and how do you get them?

Those are the correct steps.

As for overloads and other droid programs, you're better off looking at the full writeup in the FAQ than having me or someone repeat it here.

Best place to grind FP if you don't/can't go to Deep space or Kessel is dead as a dodo for spawns as it usually is is to if Rebel...fly to Dathomir and buzz the Empire stations around there. Plenty of T3/4 baddies to kill and half decent FP to accompany it. Also...if you get overloads working, those little gnats aren't going to touch you.

As for Imp..erm *tries to remember*.

Ahah...try Lok system Alliance station for low lvl kills or Endor for tier 4 Rebels near the station.

Point is though...once you get master...as long as you leave the ISDor Freedom station alone and let the place build up with T5 spawns...that is and will always be [for the foreseeable future] the best place for faction grinding..just watch out for enemy players .
