I accidentally inspected one of those Tier 3 Raider ships out by Endor's Chimera hyperspace point. I saw that the cargo had stolen imperial data so I disabled the ship, docked and the cargo was transferred to me. I checked my inventory and my datapad and there is no imperial data. I have a sneaking suspicion its in my cargo hold. I thought that was only for the asteroid mining though. Or is this just a bug?

Just curious if anyone had come accross something similar. I saw Alcohol in another ship..I don't know why I didn't dock with that

There are missions that have you disable ships, dock with them, and "retrieve" something.

The item in question does not actually exist(therefore it will not be in your inventory), it's just a check for the mission progress.

If you aren't doing a mission, there's no point to docking(for now, anyway).

I know about those missions...just when I've hit inspect by accident on a ship I'm just hunting and not trying to dock with I've gotten Cargo contains Nothing message...I just wondered if its something a bit different. I want to look in my cargo hold I'll tell you that.

So far, those 'items' do not exist. I doubt the Cargo Hold will change this, as if we were meant to receive those items then it seems like they would go straight to inventory or POB ship Loot Box.

how fortuitous that this subject came up. I'm on the Tier 3 Rebel mission where you have to find the Pirate ship around Endor and get information from it.

I was stuck because it didn't seem possible to survive docking with one since all his buddies were flying around trying to kill you at the same time.

Is there a trick to pulling this off?

The two points I hit didn't have a ship being escorted. They both just seemed to be spawning points for ships. I inspected a couple and some had military hardware while others had nothing. the way point didn't go away or tell me to move on to the next way point so after some time basically grinding I went to the next way point and found the same thing.
