Thread: Can't Generate Jedi Starfighter

After having fought my way up through the ranks to the 'Hyper Maneuverable Starfighter' certification as an Alliance pilot, I purchased an Eta-2 Actis Interceptor Deed.

Imagine my surprise when I tried to use the deed to generate the ship into my datapad, and instead of a ship, I got an ominous message:

"You have not completed the quest needed to fly this ship"

I had thought that all I needed was the 4th box in ship types... AmI missing something? Bugged deed?

Nope, it's just like the message says. No bugs.

So... someone who has *not* done the quest can only pilotthis shipif it has *already* been generated, then re-converted to a deed?

Is there a way to differentiate between a deed that has been generated then packed and one that hasn't? Do the specs (mass, chassis pts) show up in the view window of a generated then stored ship?

Nope, won't work. If you haven't done the quest, it won't generate. Can't be transferred from the datapad, inside a droid or any other trick you can think of to circumvent the quest check.

Curses... foiled again...

Guess that's what I get for believing SWG Wiki:

You need to be an Imperial Combatant to start this quest as parts of it require you to kill Rebel NPCs. Any faction can fly this ship once it has been awarded to the person who completes the quest, and it can be bought/sold as a normal deeded ship.

SWG Wiki stated that you have to complete the quest.

Well from a technical standpoint they are correct, you can buy/trade it. You just can't use it unless you've done the quest

SeemsI am misinterpreting the grammar.

Any faction can fly this ship once it has been awarded to the person who completes the quest...

I had thought that it meant that if someone does the quest andgets the ship, then it can be bought and sold, and used by anyone (of any faction) who has starfighter IV skill.

Apparently, they are indicating thatthough you do the quest as an Imperial, you could later use the fighter again if you change factions to Neutral or Alliance (and get starfighter IV again).

A disclaimer like : You cannot use this ship if you do not complete the quest would have been nice for noobs like me...

This raises a question though: If they cannot be used by anyone who hasn't done the quest... whybother to allow them to be bought/sold? I guess if the quest isn't repeatable, you might want a second if your awarded one gets used up...

Exactly, some people might foolishly let thier chassis degrade too far, then they need another.

Or people like myself, I keep 3 Advanced X-Wings. 1 Heavy assault, 1 Pvp, 1 Test rig.
