Hi I'm Rebel pilot, 4433. I am currently stuck on the mission where I need to capture and bring back a Tie Fighter.

I am certified for an Advanced X-Wing. But, they are going for the tens of millions and I don't have that many credits. I only have a couple of million. I am certified for Level 8 equipment, butthey overload my ships mass. For example, I wanted to try the level 8 weapon, but it utilizes somea lot moremass. If I put that in, I can't fit the shields and armor I have.

I'd appreciate advice on the best way to utilize my ship's mass. My ship is getting blown out quickly on this mission.

Thanks

Crafted Mk IV Shield w/around 1.9k front/back

CraftedMk IV Engine

Crafted Advanced Blasters w/quickshot powerup if possible (look for low refire delay, around .25)

Crafted Mk II Reactor

Crafted Mk II Armor Front/Back

A DI with around 15-17 delay

Make sure you have an astro droid programmed with RO4, EO3, WO3, CO4 and Shield Shunt 3 or 4

You shouldn't have any problems using a regular 100k mass X-Wing.

That's the joy of regular ships... Especially the Regular Xwing. It's a give and take on what you want. More shields means more defense which means less firepower... That's balanced.. now, as to your question..

I still fly the regular xwing and I have a lvl 10 engine, lvl 7 shield, 2 weps on.. one a lvl 8 and one a lvl 6. Because I RE'd my stuff I have just a hair over 10k energy drain which allows me to use a low lvl reactor.

For your ship, it all depends on your style of flying. I'd recommend using a RE'dlvl 6 Engine to save on mass. You can get your lvl 8 weapon on there with a lvl 7 shield, but you are probably going to have to sacrifice your third weapon. You might be able to sqeeze in 2 lvl 8 weps, but it'll be tight. Armor, CM's, Boosters, Launchers.. those are all extra's. I wouldn't worry about those until you see how much mass you have left to work with. Start with the Engine, Shield and Weapons first. And don't be afraid to only use 2 guns.

Another option would be to use 3 lvl 6 guns. I like lvl 6's because you can get some good ones up to 2700+ damage, and have even seen them over 2900(but that's rare). The vs. against shields and armor are better then crafted also. they don't fire as fast, but your punch per hit is better then with crafted 7's. But again that's something you could play around with. If you get them RE'd down to 1500 drain on each and under 10k mass then you're only looking at using 4500 drain and 30k or less mass on your weapons. That should save you lots of mass to put on your shield with whatever engine you have. After it's set up you might be able to see if you can switch one of hte 6's for an 8. But that depends on you.

On your reactor look for a gen rate of around 12-13 with about 2-3k mass. There are betters out there though. The one I run is 11.8k Energy put out with only 800 mass. So once you figure out your drain you can figure out your reactor to. If you're running programs it helps to have a little space between your energy drain and what the reactor puts out.

Hope it works out for you.

A 100k massX-Wing can have some pretty good equipment loaded into it and a menace.

Weapons - 2 level 6's and a level 5 (RE'd if possible, other wise 3 level 5's fit just fine and do pretty decent damage)

Engine - If you have and RE'd QID, that'll fit just fine, otherwise get a crafted level 7 or RE your reward level 6 engine for some awesome YPR and pretty good speed.

Reactor - a level 2 or 3 (even a 4) reactor with lots of juice (crafted, looted, or RE'd)

Shield - I run an RE'd level 6 shield and have no problems with it in PvE

DI - RE'd level 5 one if possible or go with a crafted one

Booster - RE'd level 2 or 4 (a non RE'd one works but still a little too heavy for my tastes)

Armor - luxury item (most of the time), last thing I load in and usually use crafted level 3 or RE'd level 4 armor

I had the advanced and went back to my standard X-Wing. Nothing wrong with the advanced, I just like the standard. To fly the advanced though, you need to have done the quest and gotten the badge even if it says you are cert'd for it. I'm not at home right now, so I can't post the exact loadout I have on my X-Wing. While not as impressive looking loadout-wise as the Advanced had, it's still a brute and gets the job done.

Actually, you do not need to have done the quest to fly the Heavy X. A friend of mine's quest is bugged because he switched factions and could not do the quest. He got someone else to do the quest and give him the Heavy X. Same goes for the Vaksai.

Thanks for all the advice! I appreciate it I'm still tinkering about, but I'm getting better equipment. I'm now 4-4-4-4 But, I'm having a difficult time getting past the mission where I have to take out the Tie Desimater and crew

Thanks, again
