having not tried it yet i dunno how well the vette and the gunboats overlap their firepower, but i once figured if one did a combined arms attack using Xwings to play with the fighters, you could fly in basic Y-Wings under the gunboats and match speed directly under them. with gunners and have the gunner pound the boats while the pilot uses missles on the vette. rockets dont need LOS so far it seems so in theory this would work. sure it can be soloed and odds are when i go in duo with my friend ill bring my LP instead of Xwing to bring its raw ability to deliver warheads to the target.

Yeah, I was thinking of doing the vette for master (on my rebel) with a LP just for that reason. With a high speed engine and good shields surviving the fighter cover should be easy, even without IFF.

Of course it depends on your fighting style but I have found I have the best luck on vette missions with a small fast ship like an A-Wing. The small hitbox and speed fits the way I like to fight. Which reminds me I really need to loadout my alt's A-wing again real soon. (Evil Grin)

I know but I just love flying both faction's ships

The Reb gunboast cant target you when you are undeneath them, but the Imperail ones can! learned that the hard way whilst doing a reb Sqrdn. They have a smaller blind spot than the Rebel ones.
Should in theory work, just watch out for the Vette course chagnes.
