Thread: Does changing squadron faction REQUIRE a redeeding of ships?

Just wondering if anyone can help me with a query - I've had a look through the FAQs but couldn't find a definitive answer, the search function keeps dying on me, andI can't find anyone in-game to ask to answer my question..

I have aced all 3 of the Imperial Squadrons and want to make a start on the freelancer and rebel squadrons - if I want to change to freelancer now, do I have to redeed all my Imperial ships?

The reason I ask is that once I have done all of the Rebel and Freelance squadrons, I'd like to return to being an Imperial Ace, in which case I'll just use my Heavy TIE to regrind a squadron I'm already aced in. Also, I have a fully furnished and decorated VT-49 Decimator, and the prospect of having to completely clear the ship and redeed it is one I can't face right now (it'd take hours I reckon).

Any help would be greatly appreciated - a little advice from pilots who've done more than one faction - thanks!
