Mollie's Guide to Overload Chips

Overload chips can be one of the most important additions to you ship. There are around 75 commands that can be loaded in a ship , but only a handful can be loaded on you droid.Remember this takes place in a galaxy far far away ,and they only had use of 256meg HDD so don't expect too much from your little fellow...

First you need to attain an Astromech Droid or droid command unit . Some ships can hold a droid and some cannot either way you need on of the pieces i listed above. You can locate them via vendor search.Be sure to check your character sheet for level of Astromech you can use . When I was at tier 3 I bought 3 droids to save time of having to find them later .I bought the next 2 droid lvls so i wouldnt have too. Also some crafting droids were converted to LVL 6 astromech when JTL hit so you may not have to buy a lvl 6.

Overload Chips(OL Chips)Can be attained via vendor search or if you know rebel or imp master pilots they can make the chips for you.The 4 most important chips to aquire are Engine OL,Reactor OL,Capacitor OL,Weapons OL.These chips also come in lvl with 4 being the highest . I suggest getting OL 3 chips to start with as they are much less of a hassle to work with.

Programming your droid is quite easy open data pad and open the radial on your droid , and select program droid. In this window you will see the programs you can load to the right are programs that are loaded. You can use the center arrows to move the programs from one side to the other.Once you have used a chip it cannot be used again.OK now your droid is ready .

Now go to the terminal and load the droid in your ship and launch. When in space you will need to open the command browser then go to astromech tab load the new commands into your macros. In this order Use Reactor OL , wait approx 60 sec then load the Engine OL,Capacitor OL,Weapon OL.if your weapons do not work head to a space station and repair the damage caused by the overloads.Try the sequence again.Once they are working properly go have fun!!!Btw they will still be loaded if you hyper or go to Deep space ,but will stop working if you get damage to your chassis or blow up you then will have to go through the whole cycle again.

This message is not to be duplicated in any way failure to comply with these instructions will be your demise!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope - the equalization commands just bring everything back to normal - it doesn't repair you.

The only equalization command you should EVER have loaded is Shield Equal., and only if you have Shield Adjust Front-Heavy loaded.

As for my personal loadouts, I keep two FCs/Astros on each character, one for PvP/Heavy PvE, the other for light-to-medium PvE:

For the PvP:
Engine Overloads 3&4
Weapon Overload 3
Reactor Overload 2 (even though I haven't had to use it yet)
Cap Overcharge 4
Cap to Shield Shunt 4

For PvE:
Engine Overload 3
Weapon Overload 3
Reactor Overload 2 (again, just in case)
Cap Overcharge 3
Cap to Shield Shunt 3 (I want to be able to keep firing after using it)

That's what I meant... that repairing equalizes you like the equalization commands.... I had no idea.

I dunno - the equalize command (spreading damage throughout all of the components) could be a lifesaver if you have one or two essential parts disabled (reactor/engine!)...

I would have it loaded, if I had the room... but hopefully never have to use it.

its a general get started guide to OL chips and the one listed I would say are most important you should use this as a start and adjust to use chips or comands that you feel could help!!!!

Are you thinking /vrepair? That's not a droid program, it's a rebel pilot special. You don't have to load it, it's automatically available everytime you launch.
