Thread: How to finish the endless Valerian attacks?????

I'm doing the tier 4 mission between boxes 3 and 4, neutral Tat. The mission is to disable and inspect a Valerian gunship near Dant, then to go to Tat and take out every single Valerian. So far I have been fighting an endless stream of Tier 1 Valerians for more than 2 hours. Does it never end? Or have I missed something important?
I've taken temporary R&R next to the space station, but how do I finish thismission?

Where'd you get this mission from? Is it a duty mission from your tier 4trainer? I'm a bit confused because you said it 's tier 4 mission, but that you are killing Tier 1s. Something's funny here.

Duty mission from Tier 4 trainer on Dath, between box 3 and 4. Two hours of endless Tier 1 Valarians. Just now I finally got to the point where there actually wasn't a single Valarian left in the system. I cycled through over and over again, then hyperspaced back to Dath.....only to be told that I had abandoned my mission!
What gives?

Weird...got back to the trainer after "failing" the mission and all she did was give me the standard choice between three kinds of missions. Looks like I passed (although if she was supposed to give me any goodies, she didn't....then again my inventory filled up ten minutes into the two hour flight).
Anyone else go through this?

If its a Duty mission, then its not part of your pilot progression. Its simply a way to get experience and money. The rewards are for completing storyline missions. I still don't know exactly what you're doing, since a tier4 trainer would not give out a mission agains tier1 spawns, and tier1 stuff doesnt generally appear in dathomir space.
Duty missions can be abandoned at any time. They are there to help you grind with the added bonus of cash rewards.

Sorry my fault on the terminology...not a duty mission then. Rather one of the missions you get when you finish a box, before you can go on to the next box. I apparently "failed" it, yet when I got back to the trainer instead of yelling at me for failure, she offered me the standard choice of duty missions. As if everything is OK.
But the mission she had me do had two parts (apparently):
1. Locate a Valarian ship near a waypoint near Dant and disable and inspect it. If it was the right ship (second one I hit was) dock to pick up some cargo.
2. Take out every Valarian in the skies about Tatooine. With two Tier 2 exceptions, every single one of them was Tier 1. Easy, but really boring after the first five minutes. And low points. Since I got at least 260k doingthe mission, that would indicate 2000 Tier 1 targets. Boring.....
But the mission she had me do had two parts (apparently):

As I recall that mission sends you to a couple specific waypoints and has you kill spawns there. If you had read your journal, it probably would have explained that better than your Trainer. Always double check your Journal versus what the trainer tells you, you weren't meant to wipe out every natural Valarian in Tatoo space.

I did read the journal...it said that every Valarian had to be killed. It still said that when I left the system and "failed" the mission.
I only got a single waypoint near Tat. When I flew near it, the Valarian spawns began, and never ended until I hyperspaced in system. Then they were all gone until I flew to the waypoint again, and the spawning began again. The final time I did that, though, no more Valarians appeared and after a few minutes I gave up and hyprspaced back to Dath.

there should have been a wp that had like 4 tier 4 kimos and 1 tier 5 kimo, those are the only ones you needed to waste.
