I discovered a neat trick last night.
The gunner in a 2 seater can "get out" by comm'ing the station and going through the landing routine.
I find this handy if the gunner needs to go and the pilot is all Overloaded and Overt and doesn't want to land yet. In the past I tried /dismiss, like in a big MP ship, but it didnt work. I imagine this trick would function for anyone in a seat on a big ship too.
Now.... all we need is a way for the reverse to happen. Pick up a groundhog without landing and we're truly onto something.

Nice one Psi, I never even thought to try that.

I cant remember the command off the top of my head, but you can use the escape pod from the turret of a 2 seater as well.
I believe it is something along the lines of '/escapePod' or '/use EscapePod'.
Bah!! I'll look it up and come back and post it. Its not either of these, but something like it. I've used it twice already whilie gunning for a friend who had a problem crashin his computer while we were flying and I would have to get out or wait 15 minutes for him to log back in...

Yep, the gunner in the two pilot ships can even take you to kessel and deepspace. Lats time my gunner did this though I was bugged and couldn't /comm with any stations. It was weird...

My co-pilot discovered it by chance as well. Heading in to Corellia station, he commed the station control and got them to repair the damaged armour plating; free repair, yay!
After that he said something to me, I don't recal what, and I replied and continued talking.... until I realised he wasn't answering any more (we were chatting in spatial). Nearly jumped out of skin to find my co-pilot gone, and he wasn't anywhere o board the ship. Later he told me he'd asked for landing, and found that he'd landed without the ship...

As a gunner I tried it a while back and I ended up landing the entire ship, rather than just letting myself out. I can't remember if it was as a 2 seater turret gunner or MP ship gunner, but I'm leaning towards 2 seater.
I've also had a system crash about the time I flew my ship to a station and my turret gunner (who was the pilot the when I first tried it so he knew it was possible) landed the ship from his position when it became obvious I had crashed.
I guess it's another change for the better.

How does that work? Do they give you an ablative heat shield, a parachute and a healthy slug o' Whyvern's Reserve and wish you a good trip?
