Thread: Does anyone know how to shut down your ship's weapon system?

Need to do this to my ship before I can dock witha TIE freighter.

No you don't.


If the mission is telling you that, it's just flavor. Ignore it.


If you have to dock (or are being told to dock) make sure you've disabled the ship, and that it's the right ship. Sometimes a mission will also say "dock" when they really mean "fly close and wait for a few minutes.

The problem is I have to deliver something to this freighter. I need to dock and deliever. I can't believe that I ahve to shoot this ship to disable its weapons when i am supposed to deliever something to it for the Empire. I tried just flying close and stopping but there are 4-6 XWings around that destroy me immediately when I stop and don't move.


I mean someone must have done this Emperor's Retreat mission. Or not? I can't believe that no one has been able to land there yet.

I've done it, but it's been a while. You might need to kill the X-Wings first, I'm not sure. Or it may be bugged. But you can't/won't need to power down your weapons for anything.

Well, if you really want to shutdown you weapons and about everything else. run EO4 and WO4 with a 12000 and lower reactor. That will do the trick rel fast for you.

You don't dock with the freighter. Just destroy the x-wings, and the mission moves on from there.

haha ok, I will try just taking out the X-Wings. I was following the guide on the forum sticky that says NOT to destroy them and instead just dock with the TIE freighter. Is the guide outdated?

I haven't read the guide, but I just recently did the mission to gain access to the Emperor's retreat (I think), and I was "rescuing" the freighter from the X-wings. maybe we're talking about different missions.

Yea, the mission starts in Naboo. You have to rescue a freighter. I've done that and now have a waypoint in the Yavin system. I have to go to a waypoint and dock with a TIE. The only thing at the waypoint is a TIE freighter and about 4-6 X-Wings. That is when I try to dock with the freighter only to have it tell me my request has been denied and I need to disable my weapons.

Not having done this mission I can only guess... but I'd say if the x-wings are killing you by all means TAKE THEM OUT... as for the freighter, you might try to disable it first... you only have a few options any way. You can inspect, you can dock,you can disable it then dock or you can just wait(after killing the fighters).If the first two get you nowhere then they may need some heavy handed tactics to let you dock.

The ship you're supposed to dock with in the Yavin system is a TIE Interceptor (at least it was when I did the mission). I didn't see any freighters in the area. But then again, I was worried about dying, because I did the mission in my starter ship.
