Nice setup.. only thing I would switch is the capacitor and booster. You can loot some much better level 6 capacitors around 1200ish energy.
Also, why not switch that booster for a level 4 reward booster? RE it and your energy will be 2000+ with a recharge of 50+
Check the bazaar for player vendors selling Mandal "M" series boosters. I find those (and the rebel and imp versions) really cheap all the time.

Engine overload 4, capacitor to shield shunt 4.

My pvp record in it so far is 2-0, first guy got the drop on my in an x-wing, but I quickly disposed of him with my image rec launchers, and the second opponent in a y-wing whom I caught off guard.

I'm so jealous of that shield... I've got one RE'd to 2555 f/b protection, but that recharge is insane...

Question from a new pilot....I have the tie interceptor, but i can also fly the bomber if I choose...should I?? Is anything about the bomber better than the interceptor?

No. If anything, you're better off finding a Heavy TIE instead of a Bomber. But an Interceptor should be fine until you get to Tier 4 and the JSF.

Well, sticking to the whole "true imperial" way of thinking, either an Interceptor or Heavy TIE will be your best bet. If you can get a Heavy TIE, that will easily take you to master, unless you want to grab the TIE Advanced to learn about it. If you stick with the Interceptor, you'll definately want to switch over to the Advanced for Tier 4/Kessel.
I don't view a JSF as a true imperial ship, since anyone that does the quest can get it, and it seems that better then 1/4 of the people in DS fly it, be them Rebel, Imperial, or Freelance. Granted, it's a good ship, but it really limits your skill growth in learning how to truely fly a ship.

Some people swear by the bomber, and if you're doing missions solo for the first time, it can actually be a really strong ship for an Imperial, since you can put whatever you want in it. Look on the bazaar under Misc, see if you can find an old deed for cheap and give it a try.
If you don't like it, go back to the Interceptor.
