Seriously, there is no "best ship." It's all about finding a ship that matches the way you fly. Best advice is to try all of them.

like the guy above m said, its all preference, i myself prefer heavy fighters, i.e. the oppressor, just because i love blowing large scal ethings up, i.e. corvettes. my firend enjoys speed over everything else and flies an interceptor. but in PvP, speed really is the key. so look for what you want, not what is "best".

I enjoy speed and big mass, so when I really want something dead in pve I fly my oppressor. I love flying the red tie, despite people complaining about it's hit box in pvp. I won't give up speed on engine or on shields much, so I don't pack as big a gun as some, I am sure. This makes pve a little more challenging, since it takes longer to kill things. Definitely increase the challenge taking on big pve wings in deep space. Again, if I am really faction farming in deep space, I'll bring the opp...and she's not a bad pvper at all. Love getting tells about how well I can make her move.

I finally did the jsf quests last night with my imp on scylla, so will gradually kit her out and see what I think, but definitely would rather fly more traditional imperial looking craft.

Anyone know if the red tie can be redeeded? Don't think I'd do it long, cause I am guessing I'd rather fly that the jsf, but I have a full dpad right now:

Aka'Shi - red tie

O'shi - oppresspor

Dai'Shi - bomber (sadly getting redeed)

Deka'Shi - deci

Tobi'Dojo - yatch

Is it too early to ask for more ship slots??

Yes, the Red TIE can be redeeded. All the ROTW ships can.

I've been partial to the TIE advanced. Getting this ship fully decked out has been a mission of mine. I recently picked up an opressor for some of the high mass toys.

For pve dual guns are a huge advantage. I'm still not too sure on pvp as I'm still in the RE'ing phase but I'll probably switch back and forth between the TIE adv and opressor. If they get around to fixing the RGI I'd definitly gear that sucker up.

very interesting indeed...no mention of the agressor...

lol no jedi powers need be mentioned...jtl only i promise

i do like speed and handleing, however, i also like fire power..atm im flying an interceptor, i like the speed and handleing of it, but the 50k mass is a real hinderance.

any suggestions as to a good lower mass weapon? currently the one im using is only 1800 max dam, with 60% efectiveness on both sheilds and armor and a 7k mass..

Grab the IGI (Imperial Guard Interceptor), then. A normal interceptor on steroids (80k mass). Plus, it's red.

Weapons... it depends on your flying style, again. Some people like slower, harder hitting weapons (even-level stuff, mostly L6, 8 and 10). Some people (my included) prefer high rates of fire (odd-level, L7 and 9). REd L6s usually sit under 9k mass, REd L7s around 14k mass.
