Thread: Starting out question...

I've finally decided to see what piloting is all about and I just need a quick piece of advice.

I'm an Imp Combatant on the ground and I want to joing the Imperial Navy in space. Now I have ZERO experience in space so do I want to join the Empire right from the start? I was hoping there was some type of tutorial or basic missions to give me a basic 'how-to' in space. I've read the stickies above and either I missed it, or this wasn't mentioned here. I thought I might do the missions that were neither Imp or Reb but I'm not sure what's best.

Thanks!

Other than reading the stickies and the FAQ, theres not much else you need to know. The rest will be learned through experience.

My 1 piece of advice for any new Imp pilot is this. Stay away from Imp storm squadron, Join the Inquisition (Lt. Barn Sinkko, Kadaara, Naboo 5204, 6728). This is the easiest imperial squadron and shouldn't pose much of a threat. Storm squadron can be too much for new pilots unless they have friends to help them.

Nope, just go straight to your Imperial Trainer (don't pick the Storm Squadron one unless you really want to challenge yourself). The first missions you get are very basic, letting your learn how to fly and get a feel for the experience.

If you wish to stay non factioned in space I would recommend you go Corsec squadron for the Freelance profession. It is a fairly easy squad for a beginner and as with any squadron the first 4-5 missions are basically a tuturiol. After that they only advice I would give is stick around soak up the info on the forum. Reading the FAQs and stickies on top was a very good start.

If you want to get a general feel for flying, there is nothing in the game spacifically for that... You have to join rebel, imperial or a nutral squad to just get and be certified for a basic ship.

but when you join an imp squad, you will be given very easy starter missions to getthe hang of flying an imperial navy ship. they will also provide to you a starter tie fighter.

(man i type slow, there were no replies when i started typing this message...lol)
