Last night i started this one...Saved it for my 9th ace,and i just got the Kessel 30 mission

Upon reading all the things about it,i was alittle nervous,I have to admit...so i dove right in

I think they should rename this..to Chauffer Squadron, given how escort intensive it actually is,and they should give you 1 contact up till the Grand Admiral..name him General Carpal Tunnel

OMG can it get any worse( I hate escort quests)lol...But in my opinion, this is how pilot SHOULD be...This squad is NOT a walk in the park, like 90% of the others I have done

Is it soloable..YES it is..if you play your cards right

I did the whole thing, from 1000 up,in my Heavy Tie Fighter.

First thing i got when I was given the first chance to train in Tier 3...was xxx3...for my level 4 flight computer with Overcharge 3,Cap overcharge 3,Reactor overchage 3,Weapon overcharge 3,and Cap to Shield shunt 4.These things helped me out GREATLY

And before I hated A Wings,I hate them even more so now,but im not as bothered by them as I used to be.

I had help for 1 part, but it was a friend who helped me out, cause i was bugged(the part with the patrol waypoints being completed, and no follow up mission after)

But,I have to admit, the final part once your 4444,right before you get the Kessel 30...was INTENSE...if any squad in this game made you use your wits, and actually have a plan of sorts, this was it...

10 Fighters,2 Nova Carriers and a Gunboat...Thank god for bomberstrike2 is all I can say!!!

For those having problems on this squad..remembera fewthings

A.Have time set aside for most of the missions

B.0003 and 0303 are you best friends once you hit the Tier 3 training

C.Disabling was the best option in 99% of the quests,do NOT take the time to kill every single thing, unless the mission calls for it.If you do,you will get swamped fast

Yup, I just finished this Ace lastnight. Had to have help on a few quests mostly to cut down on time. Did most of the Tier IV box missions solo, so yes it is soloable. Had to get help on my corvette of course.

These missions are target rich, so remember to declare overt at a space station before doing them, or you are throwing away alot of fp.

The Darkside of the Force is neither Evil nor Good, it is simply an aspect of the Force, just as the Light side is neither Good nor Evil. The Darkside is an offensive and powerful side of the Force, where the Light is defensive and mundane. One is reached through emotion, the other through the absence of emotion. Hatred, Love, and Passion are the most powerful of emotions. Embrace them and you will be able to draw upon the true power of the Force.

I agree that it's soloable, though, for a brand new Pilot... this will be a tough branch. I've been trying each new ship I'm certed for I like them. Imps sure have some nice choices. I'm currently flying the Adv. Tie and, it's doing great everywhere I've been. Even with 1600 shields, and just two lvl 7 weps. Ground some xp for my tier IV boxes this morning in Kessel. Finished up all the loose fighters I could find, noticed a Vette and pulled it's screen. Did well! very nice manueverability. practiced straphing some Tier V GBs there as well, not bad. Learning a bit more and, the Tie was not a hindrance in any way. Got whacked when running some straphes on the Vette but very fun.

I'd be hard pressed to say which was my favorite ship so far. Took me some getting used to flying the interceptor with my lvl 6 RE, but, far less than I initialy thought. After that, I haven't noticed a great difference in the handling of these craft. Jumping back in my Bel, with an alt Pilot, and helping on a Vette, and just playing in Kessel... I really didn't see the difference that I thought I might.

But It'll be damn good to get back to Rebel so... No Faction Farming for me!

Considering most people only do one squad and stay there, I think all the squads should be as hard as SS. Shorter escorts would be nice though.

I have to wonder about Storm. Is this some kind of experiment? Why aren't any of the other squads like this? Have the missions changed at all since inception? I'm hearing that the Kashyyyk missions are the wave of the future, and in that, there are alot of similarites between SS and the new RoTW ones; some footwork (here and there), fast waves, heavy encounters, many, many parts.

Just wrapped up Storm Squadron, and I have to say it was a ton easier this time around. Of course, last time I didn't know what droid commands were, much less what they were used for. I pretty much breezed through it. I'm actually off to pick up my helmet, badge, and lack-of-medal now. Stupid bug.

Really, my biggest problem with SS was the same mission that got me my first time. The third Tier 3. As I have pointed out previously, I am not a fast killer. I'll kill anything you put in front of me sooner or later, but that mission won't accept "sooner or later". So I failed it a lot, even still. Actually, I had help getting through that mission. Everything else was soloed, including two vettes (I offed a vette and escorts for tier 4 XP grinding). It wasn't bad, but certainly more difficult than any other squadron I've done thus far. I'll be starting Black Epsilon either later today or tomorrow morning, and I'll see how that goes. I'm not too worried about it.
