Thread: My Borstel RE ... should I wait or go ahead?

Just wanted a second opinion before I have this dumped into a tool... here's the stats all put together pre and post RE. What do you guys/gals think?
Before RE:
drain: 1886.6
mass: 24881.2
damage: 2387.9 - 3692.2
vs s: 0.660
vs a: 0.650
eps: 14.1
refire: 0.410
mass: 24881.2

Post RE:

You can do far better on the vs. ratings and refire.
you need at least .667 to make .700, and you CAN find .39x and .38x L8s. Everything else looks fine.

0.662 RE's to 0.695 which gets rounded by the game to 0.700, so there's a 0.005 leeway there

My attitude on weapons is thus:
Even-levels are your heavy hitters. You want them to have the highest vs. ratings possible on BOTH categories. The reason is, that these guys fire slower, so you have to make the hits count more.
Odd-levels are different. If it comes down to it, I'll go with a higher VS rating on a odd-leveled weapon merely because the faster refire should be better used to get holes in people's shields, bonus if you have a high enough damage+VA to actually punch through to their armor as well.
You also want to get the refire lower merely because if WO3 is ever fixed, L7s and 9s' typical low-.300 refire range tacked on with the higher EPS isn't going to make them especially popular. Borstel/Incoms will be the new standard.

whats wrong with WO3?
and just to complain, I'm more likely to loot a black sun helmet than a low mass lvl 8 gun

yeah, but you can buy one for a hell of alot less =P
(got mine from a guy that wasn't interested in credits... this 24k mass one was on his storage vendor... he finally let me have it in trade for 2 lvl 8's I had with purple lasers.. and I made sure I didn't need any of the stats on those guns first)
