Thread: Best Imp Ships for ACE?
If necessary i would have two ships one for PVP and one for Missions
I like the Tie Advanced...a lot
If you have the right equipment, the Tie Oppressor is a wicked ship, both in PvE and PvP

I think it all depends on how you fly. Some people like to tank and support. If that's the case then the Oppressor is your ship. In the hands of a highly skilled pilot the Oppressor is wicked in PVP
If you're a fighter jocky and speed freak I'd say stick with an Advanced or one of the RotW ships. The RGI is a nice ship but because it's hit box is so small you may get some flack for using it in PVP. But using it to help other people in PVE will make you a hero
The Oppressor is perfect for PvE, use mine all the time and stuff the thing silly with parts. PvP, again use the IGI or the JSF . The GSF is nice too and found alot more easily than a JSF because you can farm them.
Depends here, if you include ROTW ships, just get the JSF and a Bella and be done with it.
Pre-ROTW ships, the Opp is a nice PvE ship, and a great PvP missile boat. The Advanced can be a wicked ship if you outfit it right. And I have seen people trick out a Interceptor (non-RG) into a very nice PvP machine.
Basically, fly what works for you. play with different ships, find out which has the highest fun factor for you and make it the best ship you can.
Fast attack fighter: Advanced or an original Interceptor.
Advanced: Don't be fooled into thinking "Ooo...TIE/Advanced...2 guns slots on a fast Imp ship". Put it this way. You've only got ~65k mass to play with, so use it wisely. What's better in a fast attack ship: 2 guns that will *probably* kill something in one volley if they both hit, or 1 gun and an engine that will have you doing backflips. I have my Advanced setup solely for PvP, so it has an insane RE'd level 8 engine and 1 QuickFire level 7 Ion Cannon. Doesn't need any more then that. 0.26 refire on a 0.74+ vs shield ~3k gun might take 2 shots to kill someone, but you'll get those 2 shots off in just over half a second, and with a really nice RE'd level 8 engine, you can keep your target right where you want them.
Interceptor: While not quite as good as the Advanced due to loosing ~15k mass, the spread of the guns on this ship can almost make up for it, thus bringing it in at a close #2 for Imp PvP Fast attack ships. Odds are, with the lower mass, you might have to give a little more then you'd like, but, in keeping with the same idea as the Advanced, a RE'd level 8 engine and a level 7 QuickFire, with it's spread on bolts, will let you be a little less accurate, but still pack the damage on.
Heavy hitting: Oppressor all the way
It's no joke. The Oppressor is a force to be reckoned with, especially in the hands of a really skilled pilot. With room for 2 level 9 Quickfires, 3 IR2 missle launchers, one hell of a shield, and even a level 10 RE'd engine, getting in a dogfight with one of these will make your target sweat. As one of the best pilots on Bloodfin told me: The second they see the front of an Oppressor facing them, it's time to jink like hell. One volley from this ship will devestate just about anything out there, including a POB. Granted, a good POB team will take a few more, but with 0.25 refire level 9's, 8 hits in 1 second is damage that not much can stand up against. The real trick to the Opp is learning how to fly it. It has lead to many discussions about whether or not mass plays into how well a ship can slide, simply because this thing slides like no other. Learning this ship can takes weeks, but once you do, people will get to know who you are in Deep Space really quick.
**Note, these are just my thoughts and impressions of the Imp ships. They might be different then yours, but hopefully they can help a little for those that need it.

as a privateer pilot i really dislike the aggressors(i think its the aggressor) as no matter what position i seem to get in their turrets always blasting away at me.
Player Aggressors aren't nearly that useful. In fact, I'd be very tempted to call them the worst of our ships. Possably the worst ship in the game.

I agree with this person.I encourage the use of the Advanced. Awesome little ship.
Otherwise id recommend it too. It has good firepower for a ship of its mass. Garunteed kill if you can connect with your target.
