OK, so I am doing the 3rd mission of tier 3 inquisitor line, and i can deliver the fake list no prob. I can even outrun the 2 spawns of xwings that hit me on the way to dock with the 2nd shuttle. Problem is when I dock and complete the 2nd leg of the mission more xwings spawn, and then the others catch up and i have to now destroy the 6 for the mission, but there are 8 more mixed in. I have managed to hone my dogfighting skills to at least stay alive now, but my mission always times out and fail. Anyone got any suggestions on how I can get thru this? I am flying a TIE Interceptor, and I have pretty good sheilds/armor and a weapon. I can't really find anywingmen atm, so any solo ideas would be great.
thanks,
aslo

Do what I did for a guildie on the same mission. I gave him a TIE Fighter Heavy Mass variant (96k mass) and he went back with all new ship and higher end parts ans pwned them

I assume you tried to fight the X-wings instead of running from them? To me that sounds like the obvious answer unless its one of those situations where they are going to keep spawning even if you kill them.
If not, the best advice I can give you is to try harder to find a wingman. Any non-rebel pilot will be able to help you. Try asking at the Theed starport for a wingman to help you kill tons of X-wings, but don't forget to mention you don't mind if the wingman takes most of the kills. That will get the attention of a master pilot eventually (we're loot whores, you know.)

If you find yourself overwhelmed, and time is an issue, disable is your friend. Disable the first wave that comes at you, then step on the gas. If you have to fight more when you arrive, or shortly thereafter, disable them as well, then do your business with the npc. This will keep more from spawning.

Yes, disable is the often overlooked lifesaver for soloing missions. Here's why: Disabling a ship is almost twice as quick as finishing it off, so you can go through them much quicker. But, the best part of using disable on missions like the Imp lines: a disabled ship takes 2 minutes to self destruct. Thus, you have 2 minutes where a new wave will not spawn. I've noticed some of the spawns on the Imperial missions are based on a certain number of the current wave being dead. Getting to learn those numbers are helpful. Usually (if memory serves me right), it's about half the wing. So, in a wave of 8, once the 5th is blown up, the next wave will spawn. Use that to your advantage. If you are good at evading, disable 3-4 of them and let the others follow you for a little bit. Then, when you are closer to your next waypoint, engage the remaining and disable them quick. The trick is to stay about 1k in front of them so they can't hit you, but don't go too far. That way they are all nicely lined up behind you and you can turn on them quick. Then you've just bought yourself 2 minutes with no more spawns.
Of course, the other trick is what Phizoul said. Find a wingman. Specifically a master pilot, or even someone playing around in a RGI. They have absolutely no issues with that many NPCs at once.

As soon as you get the drop off point, go to it and do not fight. If you cant out run the spawns then you are not useing engine overload (learn to use a droid/flight computer). Dock as soon as the drop off ship arives. Use shield shunt to replenish your shields while you are docked. The faster you make the delivery the fewer the spawn.

Target their engines and disable them first. It's much faster and they'll blow up on their own if you don't get back to finish them off...
