Thread: TIE Oppressor vs. TIE Advanced

I just finally got Imperial Ace and trying to figure out what to keep on my 3 ship slot in my datapad.

First of all, I'm keeping my VT-49 Decimator. This is a fun ship, and a must have. As an Imperial, I'm moving my Imperial Factional Armor collection up there. And yes, once Publish 24 comes out, I'll get it equipped. Right now it's just crafted and looted items thrown in to be able to fly.

My second slot would be my B-22. It's already well equpped to the hilt w/ as much armor, weapons and reactors, etc.... It's also the ship I used to get Ace with, and so I know how to fly it, and this puts me in a comfort zone. It hits both hard and it's maneuverable.

So The Question is the Third Slot.

So far it a toss up between the TIE Advanced or the TIE Oppressor. The TIE Advanced is so much more nimbler and still packs a wallop with 2 RE'd Level 5 Guns. My TIE Oppressor is packed with two looted Level 8 Guns. Arming it with missiles runs smack into the mass issue. I guess I have to manage mass. I still find with the lesser massed TIE Advanced that I can take down ships at a faster rate than my more "powerful" TIE Oppressor. Also, I have a hard time aiming with the TIE Oppressor.

Any suggestions? I'd really like to make the TIE Oppressor work but I'm more partial to the TIE Advanced. The TIE Advanced is more maneuverable and I'm more readily able to hitthe target with my twin Level 5 guns as opposed to my Twin Level 8 guns.

What's your favorite non-quest Imperial Ship? Thoughts.... Comments.. I'd really like to know.

As always, my answer is the TIE Advanced for obvious A-wing performance similarity reasons.

Forget those two, go for the Interceptor. I know I have a fetish with those, but hey, to each his own.

WOW! In all honesty, I did not know that. I am a much happier man now.

Slots 4 and 5 really! Replace them with real ships. Cmon Imps, where is that Imperial Navy I love and vape?

i would say go with the oppressor, just because to me the bell and the advanced are very similar, besides the fact that the bell has more mass. the oppressor, though, can be quite the tank with 3 ordnance slots, 2 gunmounts, and plenty of mass. i couldn't be happier with my oppressor, then again, i use my advanced too. both of them are great ships.
