Thread: Anyone ever seen this: Level 10 gun with 42k+ Max Damage????

Has anyone ever come across a gun with that kind of damage? Here's the link to the thread on Swgcraft: http://www.swgcraft.com/forum/showthread.php?p=185329#post185329


The min/max is 22k/42k with a mass of 61k. It's an un-re'd level 10. The owner posted a screenie.

It had to have been photoshopped. That isn't possible.

Thanks for the clicky. The owner is a regular poster to the board and seems pretty honest. But she did say that it takes 3 shots to vape a fighter with that thing, so it sounds to me like the stats themselves are bugged. No fighter could take even a glancing blow from something like that. I just didn't want to bust her bubble until I found out if thiswas just something I had never heard/seen before. Don't think she would fake it, but I don't know her personally, so that is just a guess on my part.

I'm guessing it's a Photoshop job. If not, well, it's more than likely a bug--a decimal was misplaced upon generation.

Yeah, I assumed it to be a tampered image too. Quality is real low so even pulling it up in my image editor didn't reveal anything conclusive. The color sample around the damage numbers is maybe 10% lighter than on some of the other stats, but not all of them.


Interesting, though, that it's basically a standard damge L10 gun with a * 10 multiplier.

That was my first thought, but she's a long time board member and based on her posts, she didn't strike me as the type to fake something like this.


I don't have the tools at work to analyze the screenie, but I am inclined to believe the stat's are in fact bugged and a decimal has been misplaced somehow. If you and some othersnever heard of a gun like this dropping Raja, then it is almost certainly an anomaly...or a fake. I hope it is the former.

don't need to analyze anything, the JPG is such high comopression it hides the photoshoping. I challenged them to post an uncompressed BMP, doubt that will happen.

well damn if this is infact real it makes my 5200 damage unre'd lvl 10 look tiny...

I too think Photoshop, but the fact that the person says it still takes 3 shots to take something down suggests there's a damage cap somewhere for bolt-fired weaponry.

IF that gun is real and IF it does really deal such a massive dmg, I would never RE it.


That weapon is clearly bugged (if it's real), there is no way to be sure that REing wouldn't "fix" the dmg

Well, I've spoken with her about it, and I believe the image isreal. I think we are looking at a misplaced decimal bug and the gun is in fact doing about the damage you would expect from a level 10 in the 2.2-4.2k range. She's not looking to sell it and has no reason that I can see to fake it. I asked her to do a few simple tests to determine if it is in fact hitting as hard as the stats would indicate.

more than the new elite POB ship guns will have, although the POB ship guns will have way better refire rate im sure...

Sure thing about that SS of my gun as soon as its finished. Its still a ways away from being RE ready though. Still need mass, drain, and vs armor.
