Hats off to you, sir.

Hello all, I am fairly new to pilot (2-1-2-1) and I am having problems with a tier two rebel mission that I got from Yavin4. The mission states that I am supposed to intercept some information from an Imperial shuttle that is disabled in space before the Imperials get to it. I get to the waypoint, and see a shuttle there that is moving, but what do I do once I get to this point? The waypoint doesnt update, and I get no new system messege.
I think one problem might be that I dont know how to target something that is surrounded in blue brackets (sorry for all the newb language here). I can target an enemy with Tab, and I can target a space station with C, but how do I target this shuttle (or how would I target a players ship to examine it while we are at it)? And once I have the shuttle targetted, what am I supposed to do with it?
Thanks much for any help

Check your quest journal
If its a standard information transfer, first you should inspect it, then if its carrying what you need you then disable it by targetting the engines or reactor. Do NOT destroy the entire ship though.
Target components with the [ or ] keys.
Just because the ship isn't red doesn't mean its not part of your mission. Some of them are tricky that way.
To target neutral ships you can either cycle through everything on your screen by pressing Y and shift Y. Or you can center your reticle over the ship and press x.
And of course you can always look at the keymap settings under options and change them to something else if you prefer.
