Looks like Darth_Platypus has fixed both the Y-8 quest and the inability to move items up and down inside them. They're currently scheduled for publish 24, same as the upgrades to POB components and the various changes to mining.
From this awesome thread.
Oh, and also pub 24 will see the addition of new turrets to the Y-8, and possibly more things I'm forgetting, it's honestly getting hard to keep track.

I'm not sure whether I have zero self-esteem or so much I don't even care, but the knowledge I won't ever have to talk about those two bugs again is enough to keep me warm at night.
Also beer.

Much as I like that they're finally fixing it, does it bother anyone else that when a Jedi quest for the Village got bugged, they put in a hotfix for it, but when a Pilot quest got bugged they did nothing for several months, then decided it could wait for the next patch (or the one after it?) for the fix to go in?

Nah, publish 25 will be the capital ships rushed to live which will break this again.

I can see it now...
Two Corellian Corvettes, behemoths in space, face off admist the black void that is Deep Space...
Inside, dedicated crews of Alliance and Imperial personell (The Alliance personell not wearing the usual helmets, because they haven't had time to put the helmets ingame, despite the artwork being already done, because they're too busy adding new Clonetrooper armours) scurry around the ship like ants, doing last minute checks, manning turrets, and arbitrerally turning knobs to make it look like they're doing something.
The captain of each ship, one a brave Alliance Officer, the other a dedicated Imperial Commander, give the order to advance. The engines blaze into life, and begin their attack runs.
Just then, a Privateer in his out-dated Actis "Jedi Starfighter", loaded with a 50ish YPR crafted engine comes screaming into the fray, and blows the back shields of the Rebellion corvette with two shots. He screams towards the other corvette, this time an Imperial vessel. He sends the commander a /tell message, telling him that he will "lololol pwn u nub lol". Dodging concentrated fire thanks to his insanely small hitbox (coupled in with insane amounts of mass and manuverability normally found on a 12k mass fighter) he blasts some shots into the bridge of the enemy, leaving him as a pile of space dust.

Hm. Then it will be time to switch from breaking quests to breaking legs.

I support this policy for fixing problems. Your first task: Deal with the JSF.

I just read a bit more about this. So the extra turrets are going in at the same time, huh? I'm finding it really hard to believe that the Y-8 quests were not broken on purpose at this point. Didn't I say several weeks ago that they'd fix the quest when the "updated" Y-8 was ready to roll out?

True, but they already announced 2 extra turrets. Now that the new Y-8 is done it makes sense to shift the Y-8 quest bug to the top of the fixlist. Both are valid reasoning and we'll never know the thruth. ![]()
And a tip to all the current Y-8 owners who have it in their datapad: RotW added cargo holds and the conversion of ships wasn't pretty, lostcomponents and such. I recommend having the Y-8 in deed form the day this goes live. If it's decorated and you don't want to redeed, just unload all components.
