I am 1111 pilot atm, but a couple of my friends are Master Pilots. If I join them on some high-level mission, do I get more XP than if i get them to help me on my mission?

And can I sit in a friends ship and fire and get the same amount of XP?

To answer your first question: yes you will get more exp from doing more difficult missions because the ships you will be up against will be much higher tier ships than you would draw from your own missions.

The answer to your second question: If you join a pilot in a multi-player ship and man a turret you will split the exp that the pilot or you earns with each member of the crew of that ship. You don't even have to fire the weapons to earn the exp if the ship has more than one turret or pilot hardpoint (example the ARC-170 is an excellent trainer for low level pilots since three people split the exp from all kills).

Everyone should be able to get 2222 in any pilot faction without assistance. The missions are short and easy. You only need 60K XP for each tier 2 box. That takes almost no time to get.

Do yourself a favor and get the XP on your own. You might even learn how to fly in the process.

I would have to agree no matter how tough it may seem, those tier 5's are ruthless sometimes, and escaping the gunboats lol..

I grinded all my squads solo, but, I do remember the tier 2 grind being really annoying the first time around because of the low experience I got from the duty missions. I guess that might be one you'd want to not do duty missions on. (gasp)
