There's one very important tactic to missions like that. Disable the enemy fighters, don't destroy them. That will keep more fighters from hypering in to beat on you. It's a common tactic for several missions of all squadrons. Learn it, live it, love it.

This is not a problem or a bug, this is just the way missions are. They get longer and more complex as you progress, and some of them become a real endurance test. Vortex is the most difficult Rebel squad, but it's not as hard as some of the Imperial squads. Just grit your teeth and work through it, your sense of accomplishment will be greater when you're done.

Ok, I've been doing the missions for Reb Pilot out of Dantooine Reb Outpost from Brother Ezekiel.
I am also doing the first missions for him, which is a set of a bunch of missions.
Unfortunately, those doing those missions are only Tier 2.
And they have Tier 3 Imperial Fighters spawning on the missions, at times you will have 3-6 spawning all at once and attacking.
And that isn't what is terrible...
If you fail ANY part of the mission, you have to restart the whole set of missions COMPLETELY.
So I just spent the last hour doing 6-7 space missions and had just finished Catching the Imperial Spy. So I went to rendevoux with the Rebel guy in space. Then, 3 imps attacked. And since I was in the Dantooine system, the space station didn't fix all of my damage.
I took one TIE Fighter down. And that left two more Interceptors (which for a Tier 2 with a Y-Wing Longprobe are very hard to kill). Then, 3 MORE Imperial Fighters spawned.
So I immediately hit the Hyperspace Button...
Before it hit 75%, they had my shields and armor completely down and had put every single system in my ship down to 0%.
So I had to hit Eject... Guess what? It sent me to the Dantooine Space Station with 400 wounds (i had 0 before the Eject), and 400-500 more BF putting me at 1000 bf.
Not only that, it only repaired my systems to 95%...
SOE, I love what you did for the ground war, but PLEASE improve space. I know you encourage grouping, but things like this should be fixed. If you fail one part of those set of missions for Ezekiel. You should only have to redo that specific branch of the missions.
So basically, every time you die, you have to go back and kill the IMperial Inquisitor, then meet and escort the IMperial Spy and defend him against 12 Imperial Tier 3's that spawn, then defend against the Inquisitor Attack, which is 6 Tier 3's... Then go and "capture" the Imperial Spy and his cargo which is very difficult since he is a YT-1300... Then take the cargo to the rendevoux and defend against 6 more Tier 3s, then dock with the guy and transfer the cargo...
If you die ANY time during those set of missions, you have to start all over again...
This is a major problem that needs to be fixed.

Suggestion, if you have the money (approx $400k) get a heavy Z95 and the missions are much easier as the ship can be loaded for war and is MUCH more agile than either of the Y-Wings. I used my heavyZ95 until I reached 4-3-3-3 and got in my stolen JSF. I solo'd every mission with the exception of the first tier 4 mission for the same line of trainers that you are now running. Only reason the first tier 4 mission is difficult is because the mission target is right next to a tier 5 droid pirate spawn point. Get two strong friends for the first tier 4 mission. If you need help, look at the pilot helper list for your server in the "stickied" section.
Personally, I think all of the missions are too easy and people are able to become an ace too quickly. Ace should be a title that reflects rank AND skill...not just rank.

No doubt that mission was a drag. I ended up beating it by grouping with two other Rebel pilots.

That mission is tough. I got it on my second try. The first try i got to the very last mission and didnt know i had to dock and evenutally died. The second time i did the dock right away and beat it with flying colors. I soloed all of my tier 3 vortex missions. This was the only one that took more than one try. Keep at it bud and you will advance smoothly after this one.
