Last night while testing my new Heavy Syck, I experianced a problem. It seemed to take quite a while for me to blow things up. I'm not the best pilot in the galaxybut I can definatly hit my targets. I noticed that many times when I hit the ship no stat would go down. I'm 4333 and it was taking a good amount of time to destroy T2 ships. I watched the shield %'s stay the same even when I got the shield hit graphic. I'm using a 1300-2200 .62/.62 weap.

Is this caused by server lag, a bug, or am I doing something wrong...

Thanks for the imput

Im not for sure if it the same or not but i noticed the same problem. It was however some one elses mission and i was unaware of it at the time. I was unable to inflict damage on the npc ships and they was unable to inflict damage to me as well. My mission spawned at abt the same location as another persons. I just tabed thru the targets and distroyed the npcs in my mission and flew away.

The nice pretty shield hit animation is client side animation. What this means is that when you shoot where YOUR computer thinks the ship is, you get that animation. you will notice a slightly different animation when you are actually doing damage to the ship with a different sound effect as well. This is server side and is actually registering a hit. Depending on your connection speed at the moment, the lead for firing on a ship may change a bit. Just find that sweet spot for that session and log it on your memory.

From what I remember, I was taking damage from their hits. Your problem may be the "can't hurt others duty missions" issue. I'm not well versed on that though.

Thanks

I have this happen to me fairly often, what I find fixes it is to do a quick disconnect/reconnect and when I load back in everything is back to normal. Seems like some kind of syncronization error or something similar.

Thanks for the replies.I did see that "sweet spot" last night. Led the ships a bit and started to score some hits . I'll try that reboot too.
