what i want to do is load one concusion and one scismec launcher, fire the concusion first and then after shields are down, fire the sciesmic. (cant spell that one)

i know there is a weapon group thingie, but all it seems to me to do, , is give me info on what i have...

You're going to have to remap your keys.

Control - 0, then Controls And then Keymap at the bottom.

Click the ship tab, then scroll down.

Currently your controls are likely set for "Fire And Cycle Current Ordiance Group"

You've got several choices now.

1) You can map a button/key to fire current Ordiance group, and one to switch to next ordiance group. This will let you hit a key to toggle between them

2) You can map keys/buttons to specific groups, so you just hit differnt buttons/keys to fire each.

3) You can actually map the keys/buttons to specific weapons. I personally don't recomend this, it's far easier to manage weapons via groups.

Remeber to hit "apply", else it won't save.

ty, atm it IS mapped to the cycle one. i think ill try #1, and make a toggle key to toggle the groups... i guess it was a stupid question -i shoulda kept looking at the command list.

Actually it's easier to just assign the launcher a specific group then use the corresponding number key. IE: put the auncher in group 6 and hit the '6' key

ty all

in case anyone else has this prob, this is what i did.

i have 3 weapons in my new x-wing. (ion, blaster and disrupter)

hit the G button and open up the group window.

i asighned 2 weapons to one group ( the disrupter and blaster, each i made with as low e/s as posible using a "limiter" upgrade ) and the ion ( who has the highest e/s but also highest damage output) in group 2 by itself

i then mapped: "cycle weapon group " to one of my JS buttons.

so now i can rip throuhg shields and then seamlesslygoto my blaster and disrupter who fire together. it worked pretty well agaistsome T4's.

this works the same with launchers.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a "cycle to next group" function. however it still dosen't accomplish what I'm looking for.. maybe it's not possible yet..

For anyone who's ever played the MechWarrior series, I'm looking for the equivilent of "chain fire". Zaax has "group fire" successfully configured.. fires group one 'till his targets shields are down, switches to disrupters for armor. Chain fire would fire group one weapons individually.. "fire and cycle current group (and stay within current group)"

anyone have a suggestion for this? I've looked and can't configure it.. perhaps I need to drop it in the suggestion box.. but figured to ask here first. thx.

Group one with your ions, group two with your disruptors. Sit there and look at the target readout(if its that important move it closer to the center of your screen) and switch between them as needed.

I've basically remapped the individual "Group Fire" commandsto individual joystick buttons. If I want to fire weapons in Group 0 I pull the main trigger, if I want Group 1 I hit the Button 2 on the control colum, Group 2 is Button 3... etc. etc.. I can assign an individual weapon or a group of weapons to each group with CTRL+G. It's usefull in quickly being able to use shield specific weapons up thenswitching to armour piercing just by activating the appropriate fire buttons. It's also for those cirmcumstances where the capacitor is low and firing the one 14.1 energy per shot reward weapon means still imparting a significant amount of damage while still allowing the capacitor to recharge. Therefore, pull of the trigger and nothing else means my capacitor will be warming up while I'm still firing.

"cycle" goes to next group. the default fire button on a JS is mapped to "fire and cycle" so next shot will goto the next group/weapon, unless u hold down the fire button , and then all weapons will fire together - killing your cap.

what u want to do is just NOT group any weapons in the same group, and remap your fire key to "fire current group". U wil need to set a "toggle next group" like i did,to fire a diff weapon.

if i understood what you wanted...
