If it's a program you already posess, something you learned in your own piloting tree, you don't need the chips. What you do is select the droid in your datapad, and select the 'program' option. It opens an interface that lets you take programs from the left side of the screen and shift them to the right side -- these are the programs your flight computer will have access to.

If it's one where you *need* the chips, I believe you can still access them by using the same approach as above - if not, use the radial on the chips to ready them, then try that again. (It's been a few weeks since i loaded chips in, and I've forgotten. )

Any program that you had to load in via chips is lost if you remove it from the computer, just like before, and you will have to get a new chip. Any program you knew by way of your skill tree, you won't ever need to make a chip for again --- until all your other-factioned friends ask for them.

As already said, you only need chips to use the other profession's commands, any in your own you'll be able to put right into the computer without them. But if you do want other profession's and you have the programmed chips, you just go to the Droid/Flight Computer and hit the Program Droid command on the radial. Then, at the very bottom of the left hand side (what you can put in) it will say Chip: <name of the command> for any chip you have programmed and in your invintory. You no longer need to move them into the datapad as you did at launch.
