NPC crew, have the NPC guys walk around incase of bourding party, npc gunners that can be replaced by a player. The skill of the crew would be just like when you hire a troop on the ground, but instead of a single guy you get a crew for FP and prestige. That way you can go up alone and not worry as much about being blown to bits. Anyone have better ideas?

I've got a better one. Keep Star Destroyers the hell away from players. Players, by and large, have proven themselves completely incapable of respecting anything. At no point in time do I want to see the ISD "Overcompensation", but I know I will if we let the same sorts of morons who have ruined the image of Jedi on the ground get Star Destroyers in space.

Assuming the crew would be as effective as the "crew" on the ISD in deep space, anyone launching his/her ISD that way is saying "Please kill me".

POB ships require multiple players to run. Despite many threads devs haven't made a single statement about automating 1 or more functions of a POB ship. The chances that a single player will be able to run a capital ship solo are very slim. And the footage I've seen so far haven't convinced me players will even get capital ships to play with as captain.

Balance needs to be forgotten. ISDs need to be "overpowered", POBs need to be "overpowered". "Balancing" them will just mean they'll never be as good as they "should" be.

Now, on the topic of how to keep 'em rare. prestige points and a prerequisite number of people needed to run the ship (lets say you need 2 full groups for running basic functions as an example. they all have to be guildmates and owned by a guild. could be just one full group for all i care. they can invite people as they please after reaching space or whatever). Can't get enough people organized on the server to make this happen? Too phucking bad. If everyone could have anything anytime, then what would be the point of playing at all. Just have everything handed to you on a goddamn silver platter.

Now on the topic of ISD crew, I DO believe there should be a limited NPC prescence on the ship perhaps firing guns or what not. But hell, if you barely have enough people to keep the thing running, then again TOO BAD. Get more people or dont fly the ISD at all. It's supposed to be a co-operative activity anyway.

And if this doesn't make sense sorry. Just throwing things out off the top of my mind.
