Thread: Good imp ship to use?
I have been a rebel pilot for 6 months and now have changed to imperial.
When I was rebel my main ships were the advanced xwing/standard xwing and nova for bit of fun
What I would like to know is what are your opinions of ships like the oppressor, tie aggressor and the interceptors (both standard and newer quest red interceptor)
cheers all

im a ace imp pilot and i use the opp 80% of the time
good mass 2 guns
the red tie not way good for pve as is 80k mass and 1 gun
but i done a pvp atatck for 20mins to i was kill in it lol
RG Interceptor for the win. Apart from the fact I feel a bit guilty with my alt 'cause the thing has a hitbox smaller than well..any other ship and it basically feels like an A-wing on steroids, what wth 80k mass and slightly better r,p,y acceleration but still having the same engine efficiency top speed wise..yes I love that ship. If you're used to working with a single gun mount it is fantastic. Noone has managed to shoot me down in it yet and npcs have no chance unless they spam you with missiles. One of my best IRL friends too, who just switched to Bria is also tearing up the server with her RG TIE....so far shes killed me once, I got her twice but she is just terrifying in it so I might hit the Emergency hyper macro next time just to preserve my modest 'lead' over her
. To furtherly vouch for it's uberness, from what I understand I'm the only person to have shot her down so far too..
so aye..VERY nice ship...If all the empire started using them on Bria, I'd be more than scared.
Its the best by far out of the new Advanced variants in my oppinion and I've flown all three. [I do like the Heavy X-wing best I guess...but performance wise, RGTIE all the way]
Otherwise...
I always loved the standard Interceptor...49k mass for me was plenty to work with, the TIE Advanced is like an A-wing in many ways, similar mass, but with two gun mounts, loved that too [was my favourite ship before the RG TIE] and well the Heavy TIE starter ship is so nifty, you hae no excuse to get touched on your tier pilot missions.
As for the Bomber, aggressor etc..didn't ever fly either of them. Sounded too sluggish. As for the TIE Oppressor...ask Dumicus on that one. I wasn't a fan although I know they can be awesome.
-Leaph [I like being rebel most though so A-wing for the win..and the Advanced X-wing too
]
Used to a bit of heavy weaponry so oppressor will prob be my first choice but will have to get heavy interceptor (for fun quest anyways) and use it.
I never got along with the awing so a bit ambivelant about the interceptors (but smaller profle etc and speed will win me over ... just didnt give awing a chance I know)
Of course, I'm getting ready to do the same thing with my alt. I should make Ace today with Crimson Phoenix, and then it's on to Inquisition. Leaving my X-wing behind is going to be tough. I love this ship.

OK Leaph, now you got my noob PvP self curious. I'm gonna have hit your friend up for a duel in DS this weekend, 1) to see how me and my awing are and 2) to get a shot at a RG and see it in action. And since your friend is a "self-proclaimed" forum troll and not a poster, I'm sure she'll see this and will indulge me since I'm crafting stuff for her. I;ll just make sure that I give her that missile order AFTER I duel her....lol.

Interceptor Pilots get all the babes, just thought you might want to know![]()
And anyone who needs more than a TIE Advanced in pve is still on training wheels imho. Take your TIE Interceptor to deep space, I dare you. And I'm not talking about the RG Interceptor either. One way or the other it'll make a good pilot out of you
This pilot sounds like me when flying Imp. Yeh..the TIE Interceptor...the standard one is fantastic. I mean, before Rotw was released and I think I said this before, but I'd see an Interceptor pilot and I'd think two things...
1. Heh...easy kill
or..
2. Oh dear this is going to be hard.
Usually I'd keep the latter in mind just so I didn't fill with over confidence but to any of you new pilots reading this, seriously..just because the JSF is better than everything [depending on how you look at it..hey even I don't agree with that but it is what the majority thinks so it must be right..?] beware of pilots in these four ships....
- A-wings [I fly one...not that that means much but it is an awesome ship and very, very rewarding. Us A-wingers tend to be counted as hot headed reckless types and thats exactly what I am
] - TIE Interceptors [I used to fly on in DS with a Mk III shield and no armour or sometimes for comedy value..and you'd be surprised at how long I'd last sometimes...with no shield but stronger armour. I used to call it the 'TrueTIEDie'
...mainly because with no shield and no IFF Scramble...well you do die eventually
.]] - TIE Advanceds [I loved this ship so much...]
- Dunelizards... [Yup I seen some scary folk in those in my career]
Those were the main ones but I know Krayts could be good, TIE Oppressors were my worse enemy for a time and the good old standard X-wing could be fairly pretty in a fight too. I even know some B-wing pilots which make some pilots in JSF cry.
I remember all that and I'm not even one of these original 'old timer' 1st generation type pilots..I'm more 2nd generation I think..not sure...don't really care but oh well. Erm...
But in order to add some constructivity to the post...If you're a pilot who is only flying since RoTW....I -really- suggest trying out some of these older ships. There is more fun in that and it can be a great learning experience which will help you enourmessly in the game. I'd love to have a new pilot come to me who had a JSF but wanted to try an A-wing instead...in fact...
Hang on..I have a thread to start ![]()

T/I is an awesome PvP ship. If you want a challenge, try going to deepspace with a unshielded 40K mass Tie/ln. It's a kick in the pants!
As to orginal poster, what good imp ship to use? Depends on your teir your on or if your master, and if your PvPing or PvEing.
Imp is blessed with ships that do well in both.
PvP:
T/I, T/A and T/O
*note personnaly id go with a T/I over a T/A due to gun spread vs chin mounted guns. And slighly smaller hitbox then T/A. Although T/A packs more punch, any hit is a garunteed disable.
PvE:
T/A and T/O
