Hi everyone,

I've not played this game in ages, and have finally decided to give the game another try. So far I'm liking all the changes

I'm wondering if there's any good ways to get a lot of pilot XP all at once as a pilot "noob". I've got the freebie TIE Fighter the pilot trainer gives you. Just wondering if there are any hotspots, tricks or tips you can give me to make my excursions into space a bit more rewarding.

Thanks

I find that the fastest way for a noob to get XP is to find a master pilot, go to space with him as his gunner, You dont loot but you get xp far faster than you could on your own,

Good Luck

I have little respect for the turret grinder, as you never learn to be a talented pilot that way. However, it will make it easier for me to dust you in pvp later . . . Tough call. Honestly though, I say you spring for the heavy variant of the starter TIE, and some quality crafted components, as this will allow you to grind alot faster/safer.

When I help a pilot grind... his template should be atleast half thru. I take a Black Sun duty mission, (have the grinder agree any helms are mine, lol) then get to work. The BS duty mission is long, and full of XP. I think I read somewhere near a million per duty... not too sure on that. Anyhow, I disable, they kill. Its non-stop long enough to make anyone want a break after the full duty.

so true, But the question was not if you respected a turret grinder or not, it was what was a fast way to get xp. Turret duty is fast xp when you are a low lvl and you go out with a master pilot. Sad but true. And dont worry, I dont PVP and since we are on different servers. its a mute point.

moot point, lol. Too bad about the different servers/no pvp part though. Happy grinding!

If you've got the dosh, get a heavy variant. It'll last you till tier 3 at least.

You've gotta do the squadron missions anyway, and the xp you can get fast enough by doing duty missions. Quickest one at low level is the Yavin Station Debris Cult missions. Tier 2 with the occasional Tier 3 enemies, you'll only need a few at tier 1 to progress, and if you're a half decent pilot you should find them no trouble even in the standard starter ship. The loot and rewards are pretty good to (10-15k per mission, 3-6k per wave for the duty mission)

Tbh, you'd probably be faster doing that instead of turret grinding anyway - unless you happen to have a master pilot at your beck and call.

My advice is to NOT sit in a gunner's seat unless you are very confident in your pilot skills. The more you fly, the better you will be. (You don't see real pilots jumping from the right seat of a Cessna 172 directly into the left seat of aF-15) Also, you would be missing out on a lot ofspace loot. If you are serious about being a pilot, you will be collecting various things like weapons and engines for Reverse Engineering. And anything you don't want can be sold to the chassis dealer for $$$$$$$!

Anyway, my last experience of the TIE Aggressor was that it was buggy and as the "gunner" I watched TV while the pilot did all the work.
