Thread: Regrinding Pilot

Ok, so i've seen this in several places now- people saying that if you regrind pilot after dropping the skills, it'll go faster because you can use a heavy-mass tier 1 ship with high-end components. Now, am i missing something? Because you wouldn't have the certification to use those parts.... because you gave up your skills. So could someone please explain how this works?

And on a side note, what rebel squadron do people feel is the easiest to reach master pilot in?

You don't have the cert to manage those parts. Not use them

if you load high level guns on say a heavy z95, you can use them since they are already on, but take them off and you're screwed.

I've master crimson phoenix (tat) and almost mastered vortex (nab), and of the two I'd have to say phoenix was easier.

OMG!! I am trying this for my next one this week!

Can't believe I didn't think of that, or catch it anywhere before. Thanks, eh.

haha i may now regrind pilot lol, silly devs putting in heavy tier 1 ships, guess would only work for same faction pilot grinding though, which is a shame but oh well

Yep, you can go all the way through a squadron with just a loaded heavy fighter. I've taken down many Corvettes in my Heavy TIE . It's almost unfair

I have no idea if it's an exploit, but, I do know it can happen by errr... accident After Finally gaining my Ace title, I decided to get the JSF, just because, and surrendered my ground faction, without realizing that I would lose my Pilot tree as well (You recieve a message telling you that you will be unable to "Progress" in your Pilot skills before you confirm your decision to resign from your faction). My ships all became unmanageable, and, all stocked... The Z-95 isn't filled with ultra high level comps, but, lvl 6 engine and a lvl 6 or 7 weapon, and a lvl 6 shield, Not bad for Tier I though

Something that also makes re-grinding much much faster is, the Master Pilot Ace Bonus XP (Double). From what I understand, Two Ace Titles of different factions would grant triple xp and three would grant quadruple.

But i thought that the xp bonus only applied when you were grinding up pilot of a different facton- so that rebel mastery would speed neutral and imperial, but not rebel again.

I've heard using a ship with equipment you are not certified is an exploit, not sure if that really is the case, and if its something they would even enforce (due to the fact that all you are really doing is making the path easier, and not really doing any harm to the game).

You get a x1 multiplier for each of the factional aces. So as long as you do all 3 different factions, you end up with x4 xp per mob regardless of which squad you're currently grinding (The 1mil boxes for T4 take about 20min )

Most heartily confirmed. Starting working with 3x XP last night, after mastering Smuggler's Alliance and Imperial Inquisition.

So, I started on Storm Squadron, just cuz everyone keeps saying it is the hardest.
