Thread: Do the devs do this just to piss people off?
So I ask, what the hell is going on. Do they just feel like doing this to make me want to throw the computer out of the window?
(IF anyone is on shadowfire and would be so kind as to help me with this mission, I'll repay you any way I can!)
IS there a way to train without having to do these damn missions? It's annoying to redo a mission 9 times, only to fail again and again. I can't even upgrade my ship because I'm stuck without being able to train.

Sure, I'll just magically disable 8 tier 4's at a time.

The guy is just trying to help and saying exactly what i would say.
I dont know what level you are, what faction you are, which squadron you are working on, and the details of the mission so it makes it hard to know what to sugest.
The best way to fight large flocks of ships is to disable them one at a time as a privateer pilot i use capacitor to shield shunt to keep shields in good shape and IFF scramble if i need to take a small break from getting hit.
I think where alot of people fall short on is alot of people dont understand about droid commands and these are essential to using your ship to full capacity and getting the most from it.
And if you think that mission is hard you havnt seen anything yet piloting is a skill in this game its not something which is button mashing or macro'ing you need to learn how to fly and what you are doing and this can take time for people who arnt used to flying though once you hit master the fun really starts as you have every option available to you and are able to use pob ships.
I'm a Storm Squadron master and I don't remember any pirates. I'd help ya but I'm not on your server.
The advice I've seen here is good advice though. Learn how to use droid commands efficiently. And disable if you can't get quick kills. Shield shunt from capacitor is a very nice program to have, talk to a friendly Freelance pilot for a chip or find one from a vendor.
If they don't, it means you need to dock with something usually. Easy to get docking and use cap to shield 3/4 to keep yourself alive.
If it's an escort, target the engines or reactor, disable your target, fly closer to the ship you're escorting. get a new target, rinse and repeat.
My partner and I did this after work yesterday morning. I was just at tier III with an interceptor and level 5 equipment, and he was in a TIE/In with level4 equipment. Disable the Pirates and no more will spawn. If you like this part of the mission, wait until you get to the never ending spawns of A Wings
You'll have to dock while they are swarming you, and your friend will have to switch from target to target to keep the fire off of you.

Oh ok, I remember the mission now. Yeah, at the level I was when I did this mission, the "A-wing gauntlet" was a real pain. Fun though, almost died on that one.
Ah, that mission. That freighter is right in the middle of the Zyn'Taia spawn more often than not, and will drag you through the Death Watch spawn sometimes as well. Get better friends... At the minimum you need someone who can go on ahead and disable all the ships in the spawn; another to cover your 6 is nice to have as well. That is the mission that any Storm Squad Ace should help you on no matter what; it surpasses "mission" and deles into the realm of "ordeal". If I was on Shadowfire, I'd help you...
