I personally found the best way was to avoid conventional tailing techniques and just joust them. If you can get a ship + engine that overloads to 1k speed or so you can make passes at the ship's front until its destroyed. You end up passing the rear turret so fast it can get only a couple shots off at best. I used to have horrible trouble with Tier 5 agressors in Kessel, but changing my tactics to this they're easy as pie now.

Yep, joust them. Target the turret and joust them, those ships have less accurate front mounted guns anyway. ![]()
Only bother to use conventional on-their-tail fighting if you have enough firepower to take that rear turret out before they can do much (if any) damage to your front shield.

Also firepower, if you're neutral and can drive a kimo or Rik then 3 level 5 or 6 guns runnign overcharge 2 or 3 will crunch it up fairly fast. Specially if its a tier 4 not a tier 5. Personally I go the "disable the turret" route but whatever works was the right way at the end of the day.

Actually, the accuracy of any NPC controled turret is directly proportional to how close you get to the turret. This doesn't take into account how fast you are traveling and in what direction. Simply put: the further away you are, the less accurate NPC turrets are; the closer you are, the more accurate NPC turrets are. So, if you want to destroy them, you need to do one of a few things.
- Have good shields and angle them forward, with Capacitor Shunt and or Shield Reinforcement commands, while trailing behind them
- Stay on the ventral side, since Aggressors can't fire that turret below thier aft horizon. The problem with this tactic is while the Aggressor can just roll to get you in firing range, you have to actively reposition yourself in the blindspot. Its not impossible, but it can make things difficult.
- Joust, as was mentioned earlier. Be sure to Boost as soon as you reach thier postion where you're neither in front nor behind them, to reduce your time in thier turret's firing zone. Slowing down while in front of them also helps to increase the ammount of time you have to fire at them, meaning you can fire a few more shots.
- Get a turreted ship, and fly around them, having a buddy in the turret blasting them. This is mainly usefull when many ships are attacking you at once, so that you can manuver to avoid other ship's fire, while keeping at least one gun oriented on the target.
This is the short list, there are other tactics out there, but these are some of the more common ones.

I didn't run any programs for that. I just blasted away and prayed I'd down it before it chewed through my shields.
Worked quite well.

Chasing them works just fine, if your aim is very steady. The Aggie is fond of high climbing turns with its topside faced in. In a conventional chase you try to stay inside your foe's curve and shoot, and thus you're probably putting yourself right in his line. If you chase and drift outside the curve, and below his midline then back up in, the turret needs to reacquire. Don't let the incoming shots rattle you, remain focused on getting enough solid hits to take the turret. Time your shunt based on how fast he's hitting you, so that you have time to do 2 shunts while still chasing, based on the speed of your DI. I don't joust with them, especially on missions, because jousting involves slowing down, and slowing down means vulnerability when there are lots of other ships on your case.
Aggies are just another TIE. Slightly more challenging than the others, but still nothing to write home about once you get a bit of practice. There are some Tier4 aggies in endor to practice on, but I think you'd do better practicing vs single tier 5's in Kessel to get the hang of it. The endor spawn can have as many as 4 aggies at once, and that tends to stink.
